Overview
Two consecutive MotoGP world titles deserve a yellow livery. Ducati understood this and transforms Pecco Bagnaia’s victory into a commercial argument with this Panigale V4 S Champion MotoGP Replica 2024, dressed in the "Giallo" that the Desmosedici GP sported during the San Marino Grand Prix. The color is beautiful, the gesture is skillful, and collectors will queue up. Only 263 examples, each with the original rider’s signature on the tank, protected under clear coat. The mechanics of the myth, delivered in a wooden crate.

Underneath this paintwork that makes all the difference, we find the Ducati Panigale V4 S in its most accomplished version. The 1,103 cm³ L-four cylinder engine produces 215.5 horsepower at 13,000 rpm for 123.6 Nm at 9,500 rpm. The power of the Ducati Panigale V4 S remains an absolute benchmark in the sport category, with a power-to-weight ratio that few production machines can approach: 172 kg dry weight for this cavalry – that's more than good for many 600 cc machines of the previous generation. The performance of the Ducati Panigale V4 S speaks for itself on the track, with a top speed announced at 300 km/h and accelerations that make the 0-100 km/h seem anecdotal, as everything happens well beyond. The 43 mm Öhlins NIX 25/30 semi-active front suspension and the TTX36 single rear shock absorber are electronically managed in real time. Forged Marchesini rims complete the package.
Ducati didn’t just change the color. This special edition features a dry STM-EVO SBK clutch with nine discs, an Akrapovic homologated silencer two kilos lighter than the standard part, Brembo Stylema R calipers on 330 mm front discs, adjustable Rizoma footrests, and a racing windscreen. Structural parts exposed to heat or mechanical stress receive carbon fiber, including the exhaust heat shield, the monobrach protection, and the alternator cover. A GPS module allows displaying lap times directly on the dashboard, a detail that confirms the bike is designed for the track above all else. The single-seater configuration imposed leaves no doubt about the target audience: committed track racers and collectors who want the object as close as possible to the Desmosedici.

Comparing it to a BMW M 1000 RR or a Honda CBR 1000 RR-R Fireblade SP highlights that Ducati plays in a different price category, not necessarily a technical one. On the technical specifications of the Ducati Panigale V4 S, the figures are solid, the equipment is premium. But the price of the Ducati Panigale V4 S for this edition reaches 73,000 euros, or 10,000 euros more than the 2023 Bagnaia edition for the same equipment and the same base motorcycle, with only a different color scheme. Even trying to justify the difference is difficult. A Panigale V4 S Corse, already very well equipped, manages with much less. And those looking for a Ducati Panigale V4 S from the 2019, 2020 or 2021 model years will find technically close machines for a fraction of the budget.

What Ducati is selling here is rarity, the signature, the number engraved on the fork stem. It is a collector's item as much as a track bike, and in this very particular market, the Bolognese brand knows that it can ask what it wants. The 263 examples will find buyers, probably before the first deliveries leave dealerships. This is not a judgment on the quality of the motorcycle, which is real. It is a statement about the logic of the limited series applied to an industry that has understood that desire is monetized better than raw performance.
