Austin, Texas, April 2023. While the RS-GP secured fourth and fifth place finishes under the sun of the Circuit of the Americas, Aprilia took the opportunity to unveil a new special series destined for the American market. This is not the first time for the Noale brand, which has maintained a particular relationship with the United States for several years. The RSV4 RF Limited Edition in 2018, the Tuono V4 Factory Summit Attack in 2019, the RSV4 RR Misano in 2020: Americans have a knack for receiving exclusive variations that the rest of the world looks at with a touch of envy.

This 2023 RSV4 1100 Factory Limited Edition USA boasts a white paint scheme with a few elements playing with the colors of the American flag, without ever falling into the kitsch patriotism of stars and banners. The lower fairing, however, discreetly asserts its Italian origins. One thinks of the RS 660 Limited Edition of the previous year, also reserved for the States, whose graphic philosophy resembles that of this one. The spirit is consistent, the displacement has simply doubled along the way, and with it, the power.
Because beneath this refined bodywork, there is substance. The 65-degree V4 engine with a displacement of 1099 cc produces 217 horsepower at 13,000 rpm, with a torque of 124.9 Nm available at 10,500 rpm. Figures that place the RSV4 at the top of the range compared to its direct rivals, the Ducati Panigale V4 or the BMW M1000RR. The announced top speed of 307 km/h is not a marketing argument, it is a physical reality supported by a perimeter aluminum double beam frame that weighs 202 kg with a fully fueled weight for an 845 mm seat height. The motorcycle is compact, dense, built around the engine as a precision weapon.
The equipment largely justifies the requested 25,999 euros. Semi-active Öhlins suspensions manage the 125 mm front and 115 mm rear wheel travel with a precision that few competitors achieve in series. Four-piston Brembo radial calipers bite on 330 mm discs, a combination that racers know well for its controlled brutality. In addition, there is a complete electronic package, essential for exploiting an engine with a compression ratio of 13.6 to 1 and bore strokes of 81 x 53.32 mm that betray its racing origins.
What is lacking in this special edition is precisely what one could have hoped for from an American series: a specific exhaust, exclusive accessories, something that justifies the "Limited Edition" designation beyond the decoration. The buyer receives a distinctive livery and a very high-level motorcycle, but no concrete additional content compared to the standard Factory. This is a legitimate frustration given the price. That said, for the experienced rider looking for a reference hypersport with a rare visual identity, the RSV4 1100 Factory Limited Edition USA remains a difficult proposition to ignore.
