Overview

A new color scheme for the Panigale V4 S in 2026. More accurately, a new design inspired by GP machines. Red, of course, with a few instances of black lacquer, the #1 on the front and lower fairing flanks, and a few stickers with a 3D effect. Ducati installs a specific "Corse" saddle of the finest effect. The downside is the €2,000 price increase for this livery.

The Panigale V4 of this generation knows how to show its qualities and charms to be as desirable as it is effective. Although… the effect is less impactful, less striking compared to the previous one. Because expectations were too high? Because the first Panigale V4 so marked the market, competitors, and fans that it was surreal to provoke a new fascination after it?

This will not prevent this Panigale V4 S from exerting an attractive power among all sports enthusiasts and beyond. For its styling, its performance, its technology, for this genetic heritage where competition is akin to an incompressible devotion.

Beautiful, and more than that. The Bologna Superbike has taken on a new look, knife-edged flanks and cooling, a desire for a more integrated winglets and a paint job that would make most motorcycles on the road pale in comparison. The ergonomics have been largely revised; the monobrach has disappeared in favor of a particularly well-worked element; the famous V4 engine has gained a few horsepower while its chassis optimizes its torque (by reducing it) to give it more feel. To go faster in corners and especially to exit them like a torpedo, a chassis with surgical precision will be more accommodating than the Ducati’s 216 horsepower. Which will atomize the distances towards the horizon or the next corner.

Justly, this chassis gives a premium feel on the S version of the Panigale V4. As is customary since the 998 S, the entire suspension system is entrusted to Öhlins. A superb 43 mm NPX-30 inverted fork, paired with a TTX 36 mono-shock. Beautiful hardware, fully adjustable and supervised by Smart EC 3.0 electronic management. Ducati continues to pursue piloted damping to offer track reading and first-rate responsiveness under electronic supervision. The whole has been further optimized, with expected formidable efficiency - more comfortable on the road, more valiant on the track. But pure track riders would have preferred Öhlins suspensions with manual settings. OK, it has the Panigale V4 R for that. But have you seen the price…….

With this S, the Panigale V4 presents more than qualitative road holding but also lighter forged aluminum rims, a lithium battery and an Öhlins steering damper. Thanks to these elements, it manages to reduce its weight by 4 kilos compared to the standard model. With 187 kilos ready to ride + 17 liters of fuel (or a little less than 13 kg), this new sovereign will flirt just below 200 kilos. The previous version did better with 195.5 units of weight. Yet, the new edition has gained 700 grams on the frame and 2.7 kg on the swingarm / new forged rim. And the manufacturer specifies that this Panigale is 2 kg lighter than the previous one. It will be necessary to scratch these figures a little to have a clear heart.

Whatever it is, we have a power-to-weight ratio of 1.15 horsepower per kg, seasoned with a large 12.3 mkg of torque. To take full advantage of this, both versions of the Panigale V4 receive the same electronics: 5 Riding Modes (Race A - Race B - Sport - Road - Wet), an inertial unit, DTC* traction control, DSC slide control, DWC* wheelie control, DPL* launch control and EBC engine brake control, a Up&Down shifter, a superb 6.9-inch cinema-format TFT screen, the all-new Race eCBS and the unheard-of DVO.

Let's go back to these last points. DVO is the acronym for Ducati Vehicle Observer - the new module of the reds, optimizing the digital strategies of most control systems (those identified by the *). The DVO simulates telemetry from 70 sensors, evaluates the motorcycle's gravitational environment and allows the electronics to adjust its efficiency between anticipation and prediction (it reminds me a bit of the KCMF from Kawa…).

As for the Race eCBS, an innovation signed by Bosch, it is an activation of the modulated rear brake by the onboard system, mirroring its grip on that of professional pilots. For the front, in addition to ABS monitoring, the Panigale V4 Mark IV inaugurates the all-new Brembo Hypure calipers. Lighter, more powerful, more stylish, more consistent and with better cooling capabilities, these even more refined jaws than the Stylema will cast your arms into your shoulder blades.

A monstrous V4, an even more refined chassis, top-of-the-line suspensions and wheels, a captivating paint job - The Ducati 1100 Panigale V4 S of the new generation positions itself a notch above the definition of sportiness. It also poses a question to which it will become very difficult to answer. Are we close to the limits?

The Riding Modes of the Ducati 1100 Panigale V4 S 2025: "Race: A" - offers the rider full engine power (216 hp) with a direct response from the Ride by Wire system to throttle opening (High Power mode) and a very firm suspension (Active Track 1) for optimal performance. Race A mode by default offers a minimally intrusive electronic setting, designed for track riding, with the Race eCBS at level 1.

"Race: B" - retains full engine power with the High Power mode and a different suspension setting (Active Track 2). The default electronic setting remains minimally intrusive and designed for track riding, but with a less free DSC calibration (2 instead of 1) and with the Race eCBS at level 3.

"Sport" - paired by default with the medium power mode (maximum power of 216 hp and a more progressive response from the Ride By Wire system) and a sport suspension (Active Dynamic 1). The electronic controls are set to support the rider during sporty road riding.

"Road" - recommended for road riding, especially when road surface conditions are not optimal. The RM offers the rider 216 hp with a progressive response to throttle opening (Medium Power Mode) and an Active Comfort 1 suspension, particularly suited to absorbing bumps.

"Wet" - designed for riding on low-grip or wet surfaces. The RM limits maximum power to 160 hp with a particularly gentle throttle response (Low Power Mode) and a softened suspension configuration (Active Low Grip 1) to promote grip and safety.
