Overview
The MV Agusta Turismo Veloce RC SCS, is a bit like an artist who decides to practice calligraphy. It breaks free from its usual frame, that of pure sport, to trace elegant lines on the grand book of touring, but with a pen dipped in the ink of competition. Beneath its appearance as a touring GT, it retains the temperament of an Italian from Schiranna, the one that makes enthusiasts of triples’ hearts race.

The sport-touring segment is dominated by generous displacements, often 900 or 1200. MV Agusta arrives with its 798 cm3 three-cylinder engine, an anomaly that becomes its main asset. This engine is not just a cube, it’s an acoustic and dynamic signature. After its Euro5 homologation, it gained civility without losing its fire, offering up to 12% more torque between 3000 and 6000 rpm. With 110 horsepower at 10,150 rpm and 80 Nm at 7100 rpm, it doesn’t lack breath, but its richness comes from its character, that emotive vibration that distinguishes an MV Agusta from an ordinary machine. The SCS system, this Smart Clutch System that allows riding without using the left lever, is an innovation that flatters daily use or long journeys, smoothing the dialogue with this sometimes capricious mechanics.
The chassis is a lesson in balance. A steel trellis frame, semi-active Sachs suspensions piloted by the MVCSC system, a Brembo radial four-piston braking system: the equipment is top-of-the-line. MV Agusta even worked on the saddle, lower and better padded, to make this Turismo Veloce RC SCS accessible without sacrificing comfort. The dry weight of 199 kg and a 21.5-liter tank outline a serious touring profile, capable of holding the road far and long. The standard suitcases, styled in the Reparto Corse spirit, and the cruise control complete a picture that is already very well equipped, including even navigation via the MV Ride app.

But this motorcycle is not just a luxury variant. The RC designation, Reparto Corse, is a pledge. It’s the promise of a connection with Moto2 and World Supersport machines. The livery, this triptych of white, red and black, the specific forged rims, the small carbon cover, the two-tone saddle, and above all this numbered plate on the handlebars, all recall that you are riding an exceptional object, a series limited to 300 units. We just regret the absence of an SC Project exhaust, which would have completed this race incarnation.

Who is this machine for? Not for the novice, nor for those who only seek cold efficiency. It is aimed at the demanding globetrotter, the one who wants every journey, even the most utilitarian, to be a sensory experience. It is also suitable for the track enthusiast who refuses to be bored on the road to the circuit. Its price of 24,600 euros is a wall, but it is the price of exclusivity and an inimitable mechanical identity. Faced with a BMW R 1250 RS or a Ducati Supersport, the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce RC SCS 2022 does not play on the same ground. It offers less raw power and volume, but more emotion, style and that unique connection with the history of the brand. It is a passionate choice, a statement. It proves that a touring motorcycle can be a desirable object, and not just a means of transport.
