Overview
Who said that a machine signed Reparto Corse had to necessarily smell of gasoline and burnt rubber? With this Turismo Veloce RC SCS, MV Agusta blurs the lines by dressing its most accomplished trail-GT in the volcanic colors of its racing department. We are far from the F4 1000 RC of yesteryear, a pure track beast, but the intention is just as sharp: to offer a sporty feel to those who want to devour asphalt without ever sacrificing comfort or luggage.

Beneath its apparent immutable elegance, this limited edition hides a few subtle evolutions. The heart of the beast remains this 798 cm3 three-cylinder engine, which, after being brought up to Euro 5 standards, has gained in flexibility. With 110 horsepower at 10,150 rpm and 84 Nm of torque, the figures seem almost modest compared to competitors often equipped with 1200 cm3. But that's where the magic happens: this engine offers up to 12% more torque in the low and mid-range, making the progression as veloce as its name indicates, without ever being abrupt. Consumption is even reasonable, around 5.5 L/100 km. The electronic equipment is plentiful: mappings, anti-wheelie, curved ABS, and an up/down shifter now in version 3.0. But the real revolution is this SCS, the Smart Clutch System. This system automatically manages the clutch, allowing you to ride without touching the left lever. An innovation that, on a motorcycle with such a pronounced temperament, adds a layer of unexpected serenity.
The chassis, for its part, is a lesson in balance. The steel trellis frame and semi-active Sachs suspension, piloted by the Skyhook system, transform every road into a precise playground. Brembo radial brakes bite 320 mm discs with an ardor that leaves no doubt about the sporty intentions. Yet, MV Agusta has also known how to think of the globetrotter: the seat, 20 mm lower at 826 mm, is better padded, the 21.5-liter tank promises beautiful ranges, and the 34-liter matching series cases are there to prove it. Add to that heated grips, cruise control, and a fully connected 5.5-inch TFT dashboard, and you get a machine that is not afraid of distance.

So, who is this MV Agusta Turismo Veloce RC SCS for? Certainly not for the beginner, intimidated by its price and its fiery temperament. Nor for the purist traveler who will prefer a more placid German brick. No, this 2021 edition, in the line of the 2019 and 2020 versions, targets the demanding connoisseur, the aesthete who refuses compromise. For those who want every journey, even utilitarian, to be a sensory experience. At 23,600 euros, and limited to 150 copies, it is not within everyone's reach. But for those who can afford it, it represents one of the most beautiful, and most complete, declarations of love for sport touring motorcycles. A mechanical work of art that is ridden as much as it is contemplated.
