Overview
Who said a modern Harley had to be soft and refined? The Street Bob 114, in its 2021 version, is here to remind us of the fundamentals: a large V-twin, a stripped-down look, and a presence that doesn't go unnoticed. This isn’t a motorcycle for background appearances; it’s a tool for feeling the road, and above all, its own Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine. With 95 horsepower and, above all, 161 Nm of torque available from 3000 rpm, it presses you into the seat with an authority that doesn't argue. At this price, around €15,700, we are clearly in the high-end of custom bikes, but that’s the price for this signature stance.

Compared to an Indian Scout or certain Japanese customs, the Street Bob 114 doesn’t play the finesse card. It embraces its weight, just under 300 kilos fully fueled, and its character. The chassis, with its Softail frame that simulates a hardtail, offers road qualities far superior to the old Dynas. The telescopic fork and twin shocks swallow the tarmac without drama, even if the 125 mm ground clearance quickly reminds you of the limits in tight turns. It’s a machine made for straight lines and wide curves, where its engine can express all its power. The advertised fuel consumption of 5L/100km is correct, but with a tank of only 13.2 liters, range quickly becomes a concern on the road.
Who is the target audience? The hardcore road warrior, the one who prefers raw sensation to electronic assistance. Here, no ABS is standard on all models, a minimalist speedometer, and a single headlight that fixes the horizon. It’s the very essence of the custom bobber: eliminating the superfluous. For some, this will be too spartan. For others, it’s exactly what they’re looking for, that feeling of riding a pure machine, without an interface. Opinions on the Harley-Davidson Street Bob 114 are often divided: you either love this character or you reject it. There’s no middle ground.
So, is the Street Bob 114 the best custom on the market? If we’re talking about pure performance and technology, probably not. But if we’re talking about personality, presence, and that unique feeling of riding a piece of motorized history, it’s unbeatable. It makes no compromises. It vibrates, it growls, and it asks you to participate. It’s a motorcycle that must be earned, and for those in sync with its ethos, there is simply no substitute. For others, the market is full of more docile alternatives. But here, in Milwaukee, we prefer strong flavors.
