Overview
Imagine a Friday night in a Nashville bar, two bottles sitting on the counter: an amber-colored bourbon and a black motorcycle priced at €33,221. The partnership between Indian Motorcycle and Jack Daniel's has been going strong for several years, with a forced hiatus in 2020. For 2021, it's the Roadmaster Dark Horse that receives the special treatment, and to say that the Klock Werks Kustom Cycles workshop pulled no punches would be an understatement.

The chosen theme is that of Gentleman Jack, a double-filtered variant of Tennessee whiskey. This reference is more than a marketing hook — it guides every aesthetic decision. The two-tone livery dubbed "Whiskey Pearl" evokes the oak and caramel hues characteristic of barrel aging. The cam covers receive an "Oakwood" ceramic finish, tying directly to the distillation process. The footpegs, side panels, saddle stitching — every visible detail has been reworked to achieve total visual coherence. Numbered badges nestled in the V's valley attest to its exclusivity. This isn't show-floor customization: it's a finished, cohesive object, conceived from start to finish.
Beneath this carefully crafted bodywork, the 49° V-twin displacing 1,890 cc does what it has always done best. With 170.6 Nm available from just 2,900 rpm, the thrust is immediate, linear, and reassuring for anyone piloting this 408 kg colossus at full load. The 90 horsepower figure isn't impressive on paper, but this engine doesn't play in the sportbike league — it pulls hard, low, and steadily, exactly what a highway-bound grand touring GT demands. Top speed is capped at 180 km/h, the seat drops to 673 mm, and the 20-liter tank provides a respectable range on the road.
Indian took advantage of this limited edition to introduce several new model features. The adaptive Pathfinder LED headlight tilts its beam through corners — a genuine asset for night riding on winding roads. The ClimaCommand Rogue seat heats and cools with the seasons, controlled from the Ride Command console, which now integrates Apple CarPlay. Add to that heated grips, remote-locking luggage, and a 600-watt audio system. It's a lot — perhaps too much for some purists — but the intended audience is clearly not the austere road wanderer. It's the American-spirited grand tourer who wants everything, right now, seated in comfort.
Up against a Harley-Davidson Road Glide or a BMW K 1600 GTL, this Roadmaster Jack Daniel's stands apart through its deeply American identity and the meticulous personalization work that makes it one of a kind. The German competition offers greater dynamism and perhaps more exacting fit and finish, but it doesn't tell this story. At €33,221, you're buying as much a collector's piece as a traveling tool. It's a deliberate choice — almost defiant — for those who know exactly what they want and aren't looking to convince anyone else.
