Overview

One doesn’t need it but it’s so practical…. And then, you want it. That’s what goes through your head after trying a few options or accessories on a motorcycle. Riders have spent a century without heated seats and the world hasn’t collapsed (with salty popcorn). Yet, once your rear is nicely warm, it’s not easy to do without it in the next winter conditions.

The Tiger GT Pro is there to satisfy your comfort desires. The base model is already well-equipped, so why look at a Pro version? Because without getting bogged down, you sign up for a model that originally includes an Up&Down quickshifter, electric preload adjustment of the shock absorber from the dashboard, heated rider and passenger seats, tire pressure monitoring, backlit switches, a center stand, and a pair of auxiliary headlights.

One more riding mode, is it really useful? Not really. Unless you discover the possibility of choosing your mapping, the level of traction control, the stiffness of the suspension, and the type of ABS intervention in a dedicated "Rider" mode, the “why not” turns into “that’s nice, I’m keeping it.” All these little extras obviously make the bill climb but you are now ready to hit the road in all seasons and under all conditions.

And in a whole new velocity for the Tiger 900. This Phase II is 13% more powerful than the model that appeared in 2020. The three-cylinder now delivers 108 horsepower and approximately 9.2 Nm of torque. The engine even allows itself to consume less. Up to 9% according to Triumph. In short, it’s just better in every way. Except for young license holders who want this machine; it is no longer compatible with A2. These will have to count on the fingers of one hand. Come on, no sadness. Triumph offers the 660 and 850 Tiger Sport for this audience.

The new generation Tiger GT is also distinguished by very slightly revised cheeks and shoulders, a flatter seat with more space, a new dashboard (still 7 inches) with a display borrowed from the 1200 Tiger, a handlebar better isolated from vibrations, and the “My Triumph” connectivity system.

Whether it's GT or GT Pro, the 900 Tiger is consistent in its chassis and overall riding experience. Adjustable seat and screen, plenty of adjustments for the Marzocchi suspension, serious Brembo for the brakes with Stylema calipers, cornering ABS, 320 mm discs, 5 Riding Modes (Road – Sport – Off-Road – Rain – customizable), 19 and 17 inch trail-road profile rims, a slipper clutch, and 20 liters of gasoline for long stages.

The Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro improves in the continuity of its lineage. No upheaval or risk-taking but the necessary efforts to counter the competition and confirm its status as a premium mid-size trail bike. The power is there, the equipment is too, and the knife twist in the wallet as well. But the competition is just as prominent at this level.

From July 2025, the Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro will be available in an A2 version. To do this, its engine will be reduced to 95 hp.
