Overview

The Multistrada V2 has undergone significant evolution in 2025. To the point that only the name and general appearance are retained. Ducati is taking advantage of the arrival of its new 890 engine to completely rethink its trail-GT.

With a brand-new, minimalist aluminum monocoque frame, a new-generation V-twin engine with variable distribution and delivering 2 extra horsepower, a new swingarm, a more mature look, a significant weight reduction (Ducati announces 18 kilograms less) and revised electronics, the Multistrada is wiping the slate clean.

It will thus defend its territory with finely improved efficiency in all areas. As always... Well, almost; since 2019, its desire for efficiency and comfort has led it to be offered in an S version, equipped with semi-active suspension.

The Marzocchi components adjust in real time thanks to the onboard electronics and work best to maintain a stable platform, maximize comfort, and optimize handling. This is the Skyhook doctrine since the beginning. For this new version, Bologna has revised the settings to limit nose dive during braking and compression during acceleration. Another novelty, borrowed from the MTS V4, the suspension Modes can now be dissociated from the Riding Modes. Either you let the engine character determine the damping profile, or you try a more personal cocktail, such as a sporty temperament combined with a comfort-oriented chassis, or the opposite, or a whole bunch of possible configurations. With 5 Riding Modes and several suspension profiles, there’s plenty to discover new sensations.

Finally, the Multistrada V2 S recovers the “Minimum Preload” function, to lower the rear of the bike simply by pressing a button. Convenient for better footing on the ground when stopped or getting on board. Let's not forget the standard multimedia system, to connect the phone and interface with calls, music and messages.

Now boasting 115 horsepower and 9.4 Nm of torque, with a minimum of 75% always available between 3,500 and 11,000 rpm, the machine perpetuates certain elements such as the 19 and 17 inch rims or the Brembo radial piston brakes with 320 mm discs at the front and 265 mm at the rear (2 pistons). The protection evolves with an adjustable windscreen. The electronics are once again very comprehensive with a 5-inch color TFT dashboard with modified graphics and enriched with three Infomodes, a new Wet Riding Mode joining the Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro, new commodo switches and a whole host of assists:

Still no heated grips or integrated navigation. You have to go hunting for options to have them. For a bike designed for touring and given the price, it’s petty.

Condemned to ride in the shadow of the V4, the MTS V2 does not deserve it and allows you to have the virtues of Ducati touring for a less stifling budget; Even if it remains substantial. The S version of the Multistrada V2 announces 202 kg without fuel, or 3 more than the base model, a less intimidating power than the big watts of its big sister, and an engine that has everything to prove. Challenges that the Multi’ does not seem afraid to take on.
