Overview

Do you like the Intruder? Look at it with nostalgia because this generation is bowing out. Euro4 won’t allow it to go any further, except for a few copies tolerated by legislation. A small, straightforward custom motorcycle that has managed to remain discreet since its last evolution. The Intruder 800 had disappeared from the Suzuki range for a time to adapt to Euro3 standards. Reintroduced in 2009, it still defends the identity of the Japanese custom motorcycle so well. Nicely designed with shapes and harmonious proportions, no frills (there’s the M 800 for that), a water-cooled twin and long skirts above the wheels, the Intruder is convincing with its elegant and successful style. Its 805 cm3 twin is now cleaner, while still retaining a power output whose wisdom exceeds 50 horsepower without violence. Transmission is provided by a shaft, fuel delivery by injection, and braking by a disc at the front followed by a drum at the rear. The chrome, the LED rear light and the dashboard embedded in the tank really give the C 800 character. A shame it’s so heavy at 280 kg on the scale. Especially since a 130-width front tire doesn’t help with agility. It redeems itself by welcoming the rider with a low seat and long footpegs. A discreet custom motorcycle to play it relaxed.
