Overview
Can a Harley-Davidson really be sporty? The question seemed almost taboo until the Street Glide ST arrived on the market, armed with an answer that shakes conventions. After being somewhat overshadowed by its more special variations, the legendary bagger’s base model returns with a clear ambition: to no longer be just a cruising machine, but a bike capable of devouring miles with renewed vigor. It doesn't want to be the most luxurious, nor the most chromed; it wants to be the most determined.

Its attitude is immediately recognizable. The ST adopts a dark and minimalist look, an almost coldly efficient aesthetic. Chrome is banished, replaced by a deep black on the forks, the engine, the exhaust line, and even the controls. Only the lifter arms and the Milwaukee-Eight fenders still shine, like accents of defiance. This understated dress, available in two taciturn colors, is not a lack of personality, but an invitation to create it. It says, "style is yours, performance is mine." The Prodigy bronze wheels and the discreet tank console complete the portrait of a machine that has set aside the bling-bling to focus on the essentials.
And the essentials, here, is a monumental heart transplant. The big block, the 117 cubic inch, the 1923 cm³ twin that growls with rare authority, has been grafted in. The numbers speak for themselves: 103 horsepower at 5450 rpm and a torque of 167.7 Nm from 3500 rpm. Compared to the previous 107, this is a significant gain in muscle. This power propels you with the determination of a wrestler, in a fat and deeply American rumble. This is what allows this 369 kg motorcycle, fully fueled, to aim for a sport-touring notion, without denying its comfortable bagger DNA. It will never reach the figures of a European sportbike, its top speed being announced at 170 km/h, but it offers acceleration and road presence that radically change the Harley experience.

The platform remains faithful to the Touring family: steel frame, 49 mm telescopic fork, braking with three 300 mm discs and ABS. But the electronic equipment takes a big leap. The Boom! Box GTS console with its 6.5-inch touchscreen manages navigation, music, and communications. As an option, you can even add the RDRS pack, an arsenal of active safety including traction control and lean-sensitive linked braking, thanks to an IMU. For whom? For the long-distance traveler who wants to cover long distances without sacrificing the pleasure of riding, or for the Harley purist who finally wants a dose of serious performance without going for the ultra-premium CVO model.

Ultimately, the Street Glide ST is a statement. It proves that Harley can inject sport into its touring, without losing its character. At €33,190, it positions itself as a muscular and understated alternative to the more chromed Special versions. It is not the most versatile, nor the lightest, but it is undoubtedly the most convincing for those who want a Harley capable of responding to a more dynamic call of the road. It has taken its revenge, and it is ready to fight.
