Overview

Imagine a mountain that decides to dress up as a racetrack. That's more or less what Ducati offers with the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak 2025, a machine forged from the same steel as the family trail bike but geared towards a much more radical horizon. The 1158 cm³ Granturismo V4 develops 170 horsepower at 10,750 rpm and 124 Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm. These figures would elicit smiles on a touring motorcycle. On a Pikes Peak, they’s almost a starting point.

Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak

What immediately distinguishes this version of the Multistrada range is the assumed abandonment of all-around versatility in favor of a high-riding hypermotard temperament. The rims shrink to 17 inches, Marchesini forged aluminum with five double-spoke branches that are nothing to be ashamed of compared to track equipment. The single-sided swingarm strongly recalls the 916, a nod from Bologna to the purists. Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires in 120/70 at the front and 190/55 at the rear are fitted to ride, not to lean. The riding position follows the same logic: lowered and narrower handlebars, raised and rear-set footpegs to allow for more lean angle. On the road, everything invites you to attack rather than to cruise. Faced with a KTM 1290 Super Adventure R or a BMW S1000XR, the Pikes Peak clearly plays in a different category of intent.

Öhlins suspension constitutes the most solid technical argument of the Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak. The 48 mm inverted fork and the TTX36 mono-shock function under the supervision of the SMART EC 2.0 platform, with the notable novelty of this model year: the rider can now choose their damping profile independently of the selected riding mode. Track, Dynamic, Comfort, or Low Grip can be freely mixed with the five Riding Modes Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, and Race. This decoupling, seemingly insignificant on paper, profoundly changes the way the motorcycle is used. The Sport version of the Multistrada makes do with Marzocchi forks, certainly effective. The Pikes Peak plays in a different league.

Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak

On the electronic front, the Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak 2025 technical specifications display a density that is astonishing. The DVO algorithm simulates 70 sensors to refine in real time the assistance to braking, traction, and wheelie. The radar, now standard equipment, manages both front collision warning, blind spot detection, and adaptive cruise control. Brembo Stylema calipers bite down on two 330 mm discs at the front; the EBC engine brake is adjustable in three levels. We no longer speak of passive safety but of an active system that constantly works to ensure that the 170 horsepower remain exploitable in all circumstances. Those looking for a used Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak will find on previous generations a technically already very complete base, but the DVO and the standard radar are real additions on this model year.

Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak

The displayed price of 32,790 euros raises the question of the target audience. The Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak 2025 is not aimed at the Sunday tourist or the beginner seeking quiet versatility. It targets the experienced rider who wants a tool capable of seriously tackling a mountain road while returning home without fighting against an uncomfortable saddle. The 227 kg when fully fueled remains within the standard of the segment, and the 840 mm seat height naturally excludes those of modest stature. The 22-liter tank offers reassuring autonomy for those who would, between two intense sessions, cross a few extra passes. The titanium and carbon Akrapovic exhaust, the carbon nose, and the MotoGP-inspired livery complete a coherent picture of a machine that has never claimed to be reasonable. It exists precisely because of that.
