Overview
Imagine a machine capable of carving its way through a dusty Andalusian track before swallowing the highway home without a flicker. This is not a fantasy, but the promise carried by the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro. In the jungle of middleweight trail bikes, a territory where the BMW F 850 GS Adventure and the KTM 890 Adventure R reign supreme, the British bike claims its status as a complete predator, and it has serious arguments to make.

At the heart of the matter beats a 888 cm³ three-cylinder engine with a T-plane firing order as temperamental as an English kettle. For this second generation, Triumph has seriously reworked the internals, with new pistons and camshafts, to bring the power to 108 horsepower. Quite a punch for an engine that barely scraped 95 before. Torque gains a few Newton-meters to reach 90 Nm. As a result, this Tiger 900 Rally Pro has nothing to envy a Suzuki V-Strom 1050 in a straight line, while retaining its unique rumble and generosity at low RPM. This is a major evolution that radically changes the character of the beast.
But the real magic of this Rally Pro lies in its passport to adventure. It doesn't just play the traveler in camouflage gear. With Showa suspension offering 240 mm of travel at the front, a shortened wheelbase, and 90/90-21 tires at the front, it is armed for the serious stuff. The Off-Road Pro mode, exclusive to this trim level, allows you to cut everything, ABS and traction control, for those who really know how to use it. It is here that it clearly distances itself from a Tiger 900 GT Pro, more road-focused, and speaks the same technical language as the KTM 890 Adventure R, even if the Austrian remains more radical. Its announced weight of 228 kg doesn’t make it a fairy tale, but its precise chassis and close handlebars give it surprising agility.
In everyday use, Triumph has not forgotten anything. The screen is adjustable, the heated and adjustable seat, and an impressive 7-inch TFT dashboard, inherited from the large 1200, pilots all the electronics. Braking, with its Brembo Stylema calipers and optimized cornering ABS, inspires absolute confidence. With a 20-liter tank and consumption around 5.2L/100km, range is on par with the great outdoors. For many users on forums dedicated to the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro, this balance between long-distance comfort and off-road capabilities is the deciding argument.

So, who is it for? Certainly not a beginner, intimidated by its seat height of 860 mm and its lively temperament. Its price, around 16,400 euros, sets the bar high. It is an investment for the demanding traveler who refuses to compromise, for whom a journey means as much the long stages as the back roads. Compared to its rivals, it offers a package that may be less extreme in pure off-road than the KTM, but infinitely more refined and versatile overall. Trying the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro often means adopting it, because it achieves this feat: being a civilized companion that hides the soul of an explorer.
