Overview
Motorcycle: Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro (2024)

So, we’re off on an adventure with a British motorcycle that still embodies the spirit of travel, but has decided to bulk up for the 2024 generation. The Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro is this specimen that makes fewer compromises, the one that looks at dirt roads with real intention, not just for an Instagram photo. Within the Tiger 900 family, reduced to three models this year, it’s the adventure version, the one that keeps its walking shoes on even when it’s at the table.
Its heart remains the 888 cm³ triple-cylinder engine, but it’s had a boost. Triumph has given it 108 horsepower, a significant increase compared to previous models like the Tiger 900 Rally Pro 2020 or 2021. This gain comes from internal work: a more generous intake, compression pushed to 13:1, revised camshafts. The T-plane character, that unique staggered rumble, is preserved, but the delivery is more energetic. Torque, at 90 Nm, remains its strong point, even if the peak arrives a little higher in the rev range. On paper, it now rivals competitors like the V-Strom 1050, but with a much more distinct personality.
What truly distinguishes this Rally Pro from its GT sisters is its expedition kit. The steel trellis frame is common, but the geometry is tweaked for more agility. The essential components are beneath the rider: Showa suspension with wheel travel worthy of an exploration machine, 240 mm at the front, 230 mm at the rear, almost infinitely adjustable. Combined with the 21-inch front tire and a wet weight of 228 kg, this gives a motorcycle that seriously speaks to the terrain. The crash bars and more substantial engine guard confirm this vocation.
In everyday use, the improvements are noticeable. Triumph has brought the handlebars closer, isolated vibrations, and offered a flatter and more comfortable seat despite its 860 mm height. The 7-inch TFT screen has gained logic, and My Triumph connectivity is now standard, a real plus for long journeys. Braking, already excellent with its Brembo radial calipers, gains an electronic distribution system for greater serenity. And the 20-liter tank promises good range.
The price, 17,195 euros, clearly places this Tiger 900 Rally Pro 2024 in the higher end of the mid-size trail bikes. It’s an investment. But it corresponds to a complete package: quickshifter, cruise control, numerous electronic aids, six riding modes including Off-Road Pro which disables all safeguards for experts. It’s a machine for the touring-adventurer who wants a tool capable of everything, without sacrificing pleasure or comfort on the road. It’s not the most affordable, but on the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro forum, opinions often converge on its versatility and finish.

Compared to a KTM 890 Adventure R, it may be less radical off-road, but more refined and complete on the pavement. Facing a BMW F 900 GS, it plays on its more charismatic three-cylinder engine and its very generous standard equipment. It’s a motorcycle that embraces its premium positioning, for those who want to travel far and well, with the possibility of straying from the road without hesitation. Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro accessories and official luggage then allow it to be personalized for the expedition. A used Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro can be a good deal, but checking the market value is wise, as it’s a technically dense machine.
In summary, this new generation has not revolutionized its look, but has significantly increased its offering. More power, ergonomic improvements, integrated connected equipment. It’s not a motorcycle for beginners, but for the already experienced rider looking for an off-road travel companion capable of performance and refinement. It hits the wallet a bit, but justifies its price tag by a near-total absence of compromises.
