Overview
Missed the Gold Line. Missed the Chrome. If you also passed on the previous editions of the Bonneville collection, 2024 gives you a new chance to redeem your mechanical honor. Triumph is launching its Stealth collection across all eight Bonneville variants, and for the first time, the Speed Twin 1200 joins the program.

This is no small thing. The Speed Twin occupies a particular position within the family: more spirited than the T120, less radical than the Thruxton, it targets the rider who wants character without sacrificing daily usability. The 1200 cc parallel twin, with its 100 horsepower at 7,250 rpm and 111.8 Nm of torque available from 4,250 rpm, delivers noticeably more punch than the T120. The architecture remains classic — steel tubular frame, 43 mm inverted fork, four-piston Brembo braking on dual 320 mm front discs — yet the whole package forms a cohesive machine that tops out at 210 km/h with a wet weight of 216 kg. Not the lightness of a Ducati Scrambler, but a controlled mass for this format.
What sets the Stealth version apart is the treatment of its tank. Triumph first applies a mirror base coat, then a painter manually executes the gradient between Sapphire Black and Phantom Red before several protective clear coat layers are added. The result shifts depending on the angle, light intensity, and position of the sun. Under direct light, the deep red blazes. In the shade, it plunges toward black. Each unit leaving the workshop carries slightly different nuances, which allows Triumph to invoke artisanal uniqueness — an effective marketing argument, though for once not entirely unfounded.
The Speed Twin Stealth is priced at €14,895, €800 more than the standard version, with availability limited to twelve months. Triumph has refined this limited-edition formula over several model years: engineer scarcity, sustain desire. The Thruxton, which would have been a natural candidate for this visual treatment, misses out and consoles itself with its Final Edition. For the Speed Twin, joining the collection marks a form of recognition within the internal hierarchy. With a seat height of 809 mm and a 14.5-liter tank, it speaks to the experienced rider seeking a roadster with a strong identity, equally capable of charming on a weekend ride or handling intense urban use. The premium asked is justified by the quality of the finish work, provided you accept that most of the added value remains visible rather than mechanical.
