Overview
At the top of the Monster range, the 1200 S awaits thrill-seekers. More powerful by 10 horsepower than the standard 1200 (145 in total), equipped with Öhlins suspension, forged aluminum rims, and brakes with Brembo M50 calipers borrowed from the Panigale, this hot-blooded roadster is eager for a good, muscular ride. Furthermore, its electronics allow it to show considerable docility when needed (ABSBosch 9MP, riding modes, triple injection mapping, and traction control).
In Stripe version, the 1200 Monster S becomes even more sporty visually. Its red color, traversed along its entire length by a double white stripe, provides a most exhilarating effect for the eye. As on the 821 Stripe, this boiling roadster is adorned with a small windscreen and an aluminum license plate holder; the latter is no longer fixed to the swingarm but to the rear frame. A refined detail, the belt covers are made of carbon. No technical or engine improvements appear to have been deemed necessary by the factory. Indeed, try to reach the end of the potential of a roadster of this caliber...
Even more tempting, the Ducati 1200 Monster S Stripe demands a certain and difficult-to-justify budget increase. This roadster still costs the same price as a BMW S 1000 RR Hypersport.
