Having laid its foundations with the Aventura range and opened the mid-size segment with the Xplora 557, the 707 X now arrives with broader ambitions and a twin that steps up in displacement. The question deserves a straight answer: in a segment as fiercely contested as this one — between the V-Strom 650, the Tracer 7, and the Versys 650 — what can an Iberian nameplate possibly bring to the table?

First, let's lift the veil on a reality that insiders already know. Beneath the expedition-styled bodywork lies the skeleton of the Benelli TRK 702, itself born in QianJiang Motor's workshops. That's no cause for shame — it's a deliberate industrial choice that gives Rieju access to a 694 cc parallel-twin without funding engine development from scratch. This unit, with 8 valves, a double overhead camshaft, liquid cooling, and fuel injection, delivers 70 horsepower and 69.6 Nm of torque. Figures that sit squarely within the category norm, nothing more, nothing less, paired with a 6-speed gearbox to manage it all. The silhouette plays the Xplora family card with consistency.
