Overview
Nobody really expected Rieju to venture into this territory. The Catalan brand, long confined to small displacement machines and entry-level motorcycles, arrives in 2026 with a 694 cc parallel twin and a pricing proposition that will ruffle more than a few feathers in the mid-size adventure segment. The Xplora 707 S comes in at €6,799, an aggressive positioning against well-established benchmarks like the Ténéré 700 or the Versys 650.

Beneath the trail bike bodywork hides an engine carved from the essentials: 83 mm bore, 64.52 mm stroke, four valves per cylinder, 70 horsepower on tap and 69.6 Nm of torque. The numbers don't set the imagination on fire on paper, but they sketch a coherent profile for a motorcycle of this size. This is not a pure power machine — it's a tool designed to last and win you over across a full day's riding. The six-speed chain-drive gearbox rounds out a package that smells of mechanical reliability rather than relentless electronic sophistication. Euro 5+ compliance is met, guaranteeing lasting conformity in the face of increasingly strict urban circulation restrictions.
The steel tube perimeter frame is not the lightest choice in the segment, and the 215 kg dry weight confirms as much. Against certain rivals that come in under 200 kg, the Rieju carries a slight weight penalty. In return, the 43 mm inverted fork and monoshock promise well-mannered handling without surprises, and the Brembo calipers front and rear lend serious credibility to the braking package. This is where Rieju scores points: fitting a motorcycle priced under €7,000 with hardware of this quality is a deliberate choice that deserves recognition.

The 19.5-liter tank is generous. On a motorcycle capable of 180 km/h flat out, that translates to comfortable range for long-haul riding — between 400 and 450 kilometers depending on the pace. This is clearly the machine's stated vocation: accessible touring, without burdening the rider with superfluous technology or emptying their bank account. The target audience is well defined: the intermediate rider looking to step up from entry-level without diving into the budgets of premium large-displacement machines, or the minimalist traveler who values robustness over sophistication.

The real challenge for Rieju will not be technical. It will be convincing buyers accustomed to reassuring names that a Spanish brand can go the distance — literally and figuratively. The Xplora 707 S has the arguments on the spec sheet. Now it must build its reputation in the field, kilometer after kilometer.
