Overview

The KTM 250 SX-F 2025 is a motorcycle designed to satisfy all riders, from novice to professional. But without compromising: it is undeniably READY TO RACE at all levels. Offering over 47 hp and advanced electronics available as an option, the 250 SX-F '25 is ready to face the 250 cm3 class and knock out its competitors.

Immediately Available Power

A true middleweight in the class with its 26.11 kg on the scale, this engine still delivers a vigorous 47 hp, making it one of the most powerful 250 cm3 four-strokes in the paddock. Designed and adapted specifically to the machine's performance and handling levels, the KTM 250 SX-F 2025 engine offers a power increase at both mid and high RPM.

Launch Control and Shifter

The KTM SX-F 2025 range features launch control and a new shifter as standard for upshifting without touching the clutch. Launch control limits power to the rear wheel, improving traction and preventing loss of control during abrupt acceleration. To engage it, simply press both the traction control and shifter buttons simultaneously. The shifter allows shifting from 2nd to 5th gear in the blink of an eye to dive headfirst into the first corner.

Selectable Maps and Traction Control

The map selector on the KTM SX 2025 models has been simplified to allow easier switching between two engine maps. Mode 1 provides a more linear power deployment while Mode 2 allows for greater explosiveness. A press of the same switch activates traction control to enhance traction and make a difference on wet or muddy terrain.

Performance

Engineers have rotated the engine of the KTM 250 SX-F 2025 by 2 degrees towards the rear to lower the output sprocket of the gearbox by 3 mm. The engine itself has also been lowered by 8 mm. The improvement in mass centralization and overall weight reduction of the motorcycle has a beneficial effect on handling and the chassis’ anti-squat behavior. The new silencer offers improved response in combination with the map selector and allows for a slightly quieter exhaust.

Total Control

The frame of the KTM SX and SX-F 2025 models benefits from major updates directly inspired by the Factory Racing team. To begin with, the area of the frame around the rear shock absorber mount has been updated and streamlined with new engine mounts and cutouts synonymous with improved chassis flexibility. The front area of the frame has also been revised with a different wall thickness than the previous model year and renewed engine mounts. This allows for a 300 g weight reduction and greater flexibility when cornering.

Ergonomics

Improved fuel tank side panels using bi-component plastics channel air more efficiently to the radiators, while the new fuel tank boot allows for a tighter and more secure fit, which limits the risk of frame chafing and significantly improves durability. All of this works with the specially designed rider triangle to ensure unparalleled grip and knee contact surfaces, especially when standing on the footrests.

Simplified Suspension Adjustment

As always, suspension adjustment is tool-free at both ends, allowing you to aim for the podium with complete mastery. At the rear, a bi-compression (DCC) adjuster, adjustable by hand, allows adjustment of behavior at high and low speeds in seconds. At the front, the fork can also be easily adjusted by hand thanks to the slots placed at the bottom of the fork leg and on the upper cap.

New Suspension Settings

For 2025, the KTM SX and SX-F range has updated the WP XACT AER fork and the WP XACT shock absorber. To start with adjusted settings, reduced weight, improved load distribution and increased overall response.

WP XACT Fork

The 48 mm WP XACT AER fork that equips the KTM SX and SX-F 2025 range features a encapsulated pneumatic spring and a pressurized oil chamber that guarantee progressive and consistent damping, while oil and air derivatives reduce pressure peaks. Paired with the floating piston damping system, it guarantees excellent feedback and remarkable comfort. The fork also benefits from new settings, which complement the linkage system and updated frame while ensuring exceptional performance at all levels. It can be easily adjusted in preload using a simple pneumatic valve, as well as in compression and rebound using the easily accessible adjustment slots. In addition, the air pump for adjusting the fork air pressure is included as standard.

WP XACT Shock Absorber

The WP XACT shock absorber, which helps keep things under control at the rear, has also undergone some modifications for the 2025 version, drawing directly from the KTM Factory Racing teams. Thanks to the improved frame and shock absorber geometry, ground clearance is greater at the linkage system level, preventing it from sagging too much. Moreover, thanks to their smaller diameter, the bolts are synonymous with weight reduction, while the new seals improve shock absorber response and advanced suspension settings.

Stability

An improved rear brake pedal also integrates into the KTM motocross 2025 range, conferring even more rigidity to the whole, greater resistance to flexing and a better braking feel. At the other end, a forged steering column collar and a CNC machined fork brace allow for perfect alignment of the fork legs. This precise fork strut geometry guarantees a very reactive and smooth action, not to mention incomparable stability when traversing ruts in the pursuit of the podium.

Mass Centralization

The improvement in mass centralization, the overall weight reduction of the motorcycle, as well as the modification of the steel frame structure, have had a beneficial effect on the chassis’ anti-squat behavior. In other words, the KTM 450 SX-F 2025 allows you to transfer maximum power to the ground on corner exits.

Energy Absorption

In addition to its hydroformed, laser-cut frame and robotically welded together, perfectly designed to offer the rider exceptional response and straight-line stability, the longitudinal and torsional flexibility parameters have been specially calculated. The frame thus acts as a damper, for less violent riding and less fatigue over the course of laps.

Ground Clearance

The geometry of the shock absorber has been completely revised on the KTM 450 SX-F 2025, increasing ground clearance of the linkage system. Molded footrest topology limits the risk of snagging when traversing deep ruts and the risk of lifting during a scrub.

Tires

After hours of research and testing, the KTM motocross 2025 range has finally opted for the Dunlop GEOMAX MX35. Offering unparalleled stability and control at the highest level, these tires feature a new carcass and a new rubber compound that improves damping and absorption, thus extending performance by 30%. The new progressive cornering block technology also improves grip in berms, while the new rear pattern with a 11% taller and 44% wider center block guarantee increased traction and control in all circumstances. This unique block arrangement also allows mud to be dissipated, ensuring traction even in very muddy conditions.

Air Filter Housing

Thanks to the judiciously positioned intake ducts, the air filter housing reduces deformation, reinforces filter protection and guarantees optimal airflow. Thanks to the infallible mounting system of the Twin Air filter and air filter support, installation of this component is remarkably simple. The air filter is easily accessible without tools by removing the left side panel. An air filter housing trap has also been provided for all SX and SX-F models in the supplied elements.

Ease of Maintenance

The KTM SX and SX-F 2025 range is designed to guarantee practical access to spare parts and facilitate suspension adjustment. Off-season or race maintenance is even faster. They will also be more accessible to amateurs, as they no longer need their own mechanics.

More Consistent Behavior

The new chain guide and new chain protection improve durability and limit the risk of snagging with external objects, especially in extremely muddy conditions, while reducing dirt accumulation around the swingarm and sprocket.

Offroad Connectivity Unit

Available as a KTM PowerPart on the KTM SX-F range, the Offroad Connectivity Unit (or CUO) offers a wide range of features and settings via the KTMconnect app. The CUO provides a new insight into riding, allows modification of engine behavior and even offers optimized suspension settings based on individual preferences and riding conditions.
