Overview

Conquering America means seizing the heart of its inhabitants and its roads. Indian (like Harley) applies a timeless, essential, unwavering recipe, with a huge engine and a massive stance. Beneath a certain opulence, the new Roadmaster Limited comes to mark its territory with unwavering kilometers.

Why "certain"? Because the Limited doesn't go as far as the Elite. On the latter, the glitz and equipment were pushed to their maximum. So, we take a softer look at this Tourer, finding it almost reasonable when it is far from it.

Let's forget the Elite, let's find each one's place, let's be concrete. In this definition, the Roadmaster is the most imposing of its family. Moreover, it tops the entire range of the manufacturer. A status as imposing as an aircraft carrier's hull, with the largest engine (not the most powerful) you can find in Springfield.

The Thunderstoke twin displaces 1890 cm3, surrounded by metallic nobility and American roundness. Piston strokes so heavy, so deep, so patient… give life and feasting to the crew. From its 116 cubic inches, more than 17 mkg is released. This inspires tranquility and steel-velvet cruising when you are on a 403-kilo machine. Since 2023, a new clutch allows to reduce the lever effort and offers more flexibility in gear changes. This year also brings a redesigned LED headlight.

This Yankee baroness identifies with the new trend. Following the Dark Horse, this Roadmaster is the second in the family to adopt a second-generation fork, less rounded and less vintage. This also gives it modified saddlebags and a front fender. The most important thing is not in the cosmetics but in the equipment. Indian takes the opportunity to graft its latest accessories, a seductively valuable addition for big rollers.

Recently introduced, the ClimaCommand seat is standard on this machine. Able to generate heat or cold, this seat is intended to be an ally and a choice of comfort for rider and passenger. Moreover, each can adjust the coolness or summer independently of each other and on 3 levels. Indian has moved some controls on the switches to install a USB socket on the dashboard.

This complements the road equipment also installed as standard on the Roadmaster Limited. Let's briefly tour the exterior: Cruise control, heated grips, keyless start, tire pressure monitoring, adjustable passenger footrests, Ridecommand multimedia console with Apple CarPlay – GPS – smartphone management – music - etc, electrically adjustable windshield, 137 liters of remotely lockable luggage, three Riding Modes (Tour, Standard and Sport), rear cylinder Stop&Go system and a 600-watt audio installation.

Between the chrome, the paint and the high-end positioning, the Roadmaster Limited maintains the desire for a constantly pleasant road in cruising mode. Certainly, this comes at a high price, the weight is not considered and the motorcycle can only live in the wide open spaces.
