Overview

Harley returns to the past. Almost a pleonasm for some. It’s not about finding Doc or any DeLorean; here we’s talking about a new collection of motorcycles, plunging certain models into nostalgia. These are the Icons, models prepared in the spirit of another era. Another way to vibrate the Classic fiber of enthusiasts of the time. While CVOs offer a high level of luxury for a restricted selection of machines, the Icons take care of imbuing them with pieces of the past.

First bike to pass through the Icons signature: the Electra Glide Revival. One of the most iconic Tourers from the MoCo. To identify with the brand's heritage, it draws direct inspiration from the 1969 version. The first to offer the famous Batwing fork (optional). The color scheme, a very elegant blue and white two-tone, is the same as that displayed half a century ago. Harley also reprised the badge from that era for the tank, whitewall tires, and the sprung seat. No need to sit down; just by looking at it, you travel back to the windows of Nixon before taking the road to Woodstock. The seat is mounted on a double sprung and damped seat. To perfect the mimicry with the ancestor, a chrome rail surrounds the posterior.

On the FLH of yesteryear, the engine was the 1212 cm3 Shovelhead twin, boasting around sixty horsepower and 9.7 mkg of torque. The Revival shows the technological gap and the increase in performance. Its Milwaukee Eight breathes via 4 valves per cylinder, has a displacement of 1868 cm3 (114 ci), sends 16.1 mkg at 3250 rpm, and delivers up to 93 horsepower. This block ensures the present and part of the future of Harley, under an appearance faithful to what is expected of American mechanics.

But if it appears Vintage, the Electra Revival can also be modern. As with the other Touring models in the catalog. You cruise, you feel the pulsations of the twin-cylinder, you protect your teeth and your hair with the upper fairing, and you discover the cruise control, the Boom! Box GTS multimedia console (16.5 cm color TFT screen, radio, MP3, GPS, voice commands, smartphone connection, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) as well as the RDRS riding safety pack. The Milwaukee eagle now carries in its talons an ABS reactive in corners, a linked braking system, traction control sensitive to the angle, and a hill hold system.

The frame is more classic with a central spine and double cradle steel structure, a 49 mm fork with double valves, two lateral shock absorbers with preload adjustment from the riding position, 300 mm brake discs bitten by 4-piston calipers – all that in almost 400 kilos of metal. The 22.7-liter tank allows for long navigation. To top it all off with glamour, the Electra is embellished with spoked rims and a beautiful dose of chrome. It can also protect its attributes via crashbars under the handlebars and in front of the saddlebags.

As we introduced, the Electra Glide Revival inaugurates the Icons class. A collection that is intended to be upscale. There will be only one or two models per year, all numbered and with a certificate of authenticity. Once produced, each lineage will be rooted in its history: neither production restart nor reiteration. The Electra will be manufactured in 1500 copies. That’s a little less than the majority of CVOs.
