Overview
Who remembers Ray Weishaar? Nobody, or almost nobody. This 1920s racer, a member of the famous Harley Hogs, had a habit of carting a pig around on his tank after every victory. A porcine mascot named Johnnie, who paraded proudly around the circuits of a still-wild America. It's this improbable anecdote that gives its name to Harley-Davidson's 2023 Enthusiast Fast Johnnie collection, and that explains the fierce snout stamped on the tank of this Street Glide ST. The story is delightful, but the motorcycle that carries it doesn't settle for just a pretty narrative.

On the style front, this special edition plays a card Milwaukee rarely explores: color. The Celestial Blue crossed with white stripes immediately evokes the American muscle cars of the sixties. We're far from the eternal deep blacks and pearlescent whites that dress the majority of baggers in the catalog. This livery injects a welcome dose of sporty character into a machine that, it must be said, often leans toward the laid-back cruiser in the collective imagination. The Screamin' Eagle mufflers delivered with the bike and fitted at the dealership finish giving it the look of a brawler.
Beneath this flashy exterior beats a Milwaukee-Eight 117 V-Twin displacing 1923 cc. The numbers speak for themselves: 103 horsepower at 5450 rpm and above all 167.7 Nm of torque from just 3500 rpm. This isn't an engine — it's a traction powerplant. For comparison, we're touching the performance levels of the former CVO models, which commanded a much higher price. It all runs through a six-speed gearbox and a belt drive, a reliable and quiet solution that Harley has perfected. With such a heart, the Street Glide ST can legitimately eye the King of the Baggers, that racing series that put big tourers back in the sporting spotlight.
The fact remains that this machine carries serious weight: 369 kg fully fueled, including a 22.7-liter tank. The seat at 710 mm makes it manageable for average-sized riders, but don't expect to dance between cones. The tubular steel frame, the 49 mm telescopic fork with 117 mm of travel, and the two rear shocks limited to 76 mm define handling suited to the open road, not tight corners. The braking system, with its three 300 mm discs gripped by four-piston calipers, reassures on a machine of this size. Cornering ABS, traction control, hill hold, and drag torque management round out an electronic arsenal worthy of a premium tourer. The Boom! Box GTS infotainment system with its 165 mm screen, integrated GPS, and Bluetooth connectivity complete the transformation of long hauls into moments of comfort.
At 39,590 euros, the Street Glide ST Fast Johnnie sits in the upper tier of the Harley catalog. The price is justified by the limited series, since only 2000 units will be produced across the entire Enthusiast collection, split between the Low Rider ST, Street Glide ST, and Road Glide ST. Suffice to say, each model will be rare. This Harley targets a very specific audience: the passionate road rider, already converted to the bagger lifestyle, who wants an extra dose of mechanical and visual character without crossing into CVO territory and its stratospheric price tags. Against an Indian Chieftain Dark Horse or a BMW R 18 B, it plays the card of raw emotion and cultural heritage. A gamble that, on paper as on pavement, holds the road perfectly.
