Overview
While the K 1300 R and F 800 R are causing a ruckus in the street, the R 1200 R retains its good manners and likes to show respectable upbringing. When descending from a lineage where the 1100 R, 80 R and cousins have lived, one stands like a lady and doesn’t go around throwing punches like that.
This Classic version of the R 1200 R displays a certain old-fashioned elegance, as the old ones would say. It abandons the spoked rims to wear models with spokes, as in the old days. In order to accentuate its vintage side, a white stripe in the style of an AC Cobra runs down the middle. To complete the look, the mirrors are chrome and the paint on the technical parts differs from the standard model: the Classic is covered in aluminum gray on the frame, the engine, the Telelever and the Paralever, while the R 1200 R chooses black for the tubes of its trellis and bronze to dress cylinder heads and ground connection elements. On the menu of this Classic, classic performance? Nothing doing! The boxer with HP2 Sport genes and its 110 horsepower just wants to express itself. The previous one lacked neither velocity nor efficiency – it can only be as good or better.
