Overview

Do you remember the shock caused by the TnT 1130 at its launch? An Italian roadster with the face of a fallen angel, brimming with horsepower and arrogance. Benelli, in a deliberate act of madness, decided to derive an even more radical version from it: the TnT Sport. This isn't a simple aesthetic variation; it's a declaration of war against overly tame motorcycles. The trellis frame and swingarm, coated in an aggressive red, announce the tone: here, emotions are not taken lightly.

Benelli TnT Sport

The heart of the beast remains the 1130 cm³ inline three-cylinder engine, an architecture that gives it a unique character, halfway between the fury of a four-cylinder and the generosity of a twin. With 137 horsepower at 9250 rpm and 117 Nm of torque, the engine didn’t need more power. The trick lies in the selectable mapping, which allows you to choose how this power will be unleashed. A more civilized mode for the city, another more direct and brutal as soon as the asphalt becomes winding. That's where riding becomes a game, an intense conversation with the machine.

But the real progress, the one that changes everything, is hidden in agility. By replacing the original rims with magnificent forged aluminum OZ wheels, from the Tornado RS, and shaving kilos here and there, the engineers significantly lightened the beast. With a wet weight of 213 kg, it gains in responsiveness. The 50 mm Marzocchi inverted fork, fully adjustable, and the Extreme Technology monoshock transform the behavior. Coupled with the still-biting Brembo radial brakes, the whole offers a rare feeling of precision and feedback on a roadster of this era. You find yourself riding with a smile, looking for countersteers, appreciating the stability of the steel-aluminum hybrid frame.

However, it doesn't make concessions. This Sport demands a certain experience from its rider. Its temperament is lively, its power is delivered with a frankness that can be surprising, and its riding position, although the seat is at 780 mm, is committed. It is clearly not designed for beginners or for long, monotonous straight lines. Its element is the twisty road, the chained curves where it can express all its fury. At over 240 km/h top speed, it reminds you that it also has ambitions of a pure sports bike.

At a price of around 16,000 euros at the time, it positioned itself as a direct competitor to the more restrained Japanese and the more expensive Italian motorcycles. Today, the TnT Sport remains a cult object, a motorcycle with an explosive personality and a devastating design that marked its time. For the sporty touring rider seeking raw sensations and a unique character, it represents a bold and exhilarating alternative. A machine that is never overlooked, neither in a corner nor at the local café.
