Overview
Two consecutive MotoGP world titles — that deserves a yellow livery. Ducati understood this better than anyone, and to celebrate Francesco Bagnaia's second championship crown, the Bologna manufacturer releases a new limited-edition Panigale V4 S, dressed in the "Giallo" yellow worn by the Desmosedici GP at the San Marino Grand Prix. A color that breaks from the usual red of replica editions, and a reminder that Pecco earned his laurels.

Let's be clear about what this motorcycle is. It is not a racing prototype disguised as a production bike, but a high-caliber Panigale V4 S brought to a level of finish that few manufacturers can match. The 90° V4 engine displacing 1103 cc produces 215.5 horsepower at 13,000 rpm and 123.6 Nm of torque at 9,500 rpm, housed in a semi-perimeter aluminum frame that keeps the dry weight at 172 kg. For a machine capable of approaching 300 km/h, that figure commands respect. The semi-active Öhlins suspension — 43 mm NPX 25/30 fork up front and TTX36 rear monoshock — does its job with surgical precision, while the Marchesini forged wheels serve as a reminder that this is far from an off-the-shelf catalog build.
Beyond the already remarkable base, Ducati has grafted onto this replica a set of components that bring it genuinely closer to the MotoGP paddock. The STM-EVO SBK nine-plate dry clutch replaces the standard unit, and the homologated Akrapovic silencer sheds two kilograms while delivering a considerably more committed exhaust note. The Brembo braking system receives Stylema R calipers and an MCS remote-adjuster master cylinder — a combination well known to Superbike riders. Adjustable Rizoma aluminum footpegs, a racing screen, and numerous carbon fiber components — including the alternator cover, collector heat shield, rear mudguard, and brake hose sleeves — complete a package where every part has been chosen for its function as much as for its visual effect. The swingarm protection combines carbon and titanium, because some details don't deserve half measures.
What truly sets this edition apart from other high-end Panigales comes down to a few symbolic yet very real elements. Each of the 263 units bears Bagnaia's handwritten signature on the tank, protected under clear coat, along with a laser-engraved upper fork yoke displaying the model name and serial number. The dashboard joins in with a dedicated startup animation. An integrated GPS module allows lap times to be displayed directly on the screen, which makes the intended audience abundantly clear. The single seat unit carries the rider's logo just as on the factory race bike, and each example ships with a certificate of authenticity, a wooden crate with specific graphics, and a personalized cover.
The price makes no attempt to hide behind poetry. At €73,000 — €10,000 more than last year's replica for a technically identical base — Ducati is charging for the yellow paint and the championship year. That is a sum that neither the Kawasaki H2 R nor the BMW M 1000 RR demands for a comparable level of personalization. The target audience does not count euros; it collects competition artifacts. All 263 units will find buyers before the ink is dry — that much is certain. Yet for the rider who wants to ride rather than frame, a standard Panigale V4 S at roughly €30,000 less delivers exactly the same riding experience. The difference is the legend sold alongside it. Some people pay for that, and Ducati has read the room perfectly.
