Overview
Ducati nourishes, abounds and saturates the market with special series, with a strong propensity for elitism. It’s as if the clientele for very high-end motorcycles can’t quench this thirst. Will the new Panigale V4 Lamborghini succeed where others have not?
In any case, it will stir hearts and fantasies. For the third time, the brands from Bologna and Sant’Agata are joining forces to create a haute couture object and formidable velocity. A sportbike at the forefront of efficiency, technology and desire, boosted by the spirit of the Revuelto.
This hypercar follows a long line of models (Aventador, Murciélago, Diablo, Countach). As is customary, it is equipped with a V12 engine. The block here reaches 6.5 liters, develops 825 hp and combines with three electric units to reach 1015 hp. The Panigale V4 claims a more modest power of 218.5 hp but its power-to-weight ratio is much better. Whatever the case, the two bolides share the same vision of extreme sport.
The Lamborghini saga at Ducati began with the Diavel, continued with the Streetfighter V4 and now touches the Panigale V4. Its very particular decoration is inspired by the Revuelto ad Personam, a creation from Lamborghini’s personalization department. To increase the identity and particularity of this motorcycle, Ducati fits it with reworked winglets and forged aluminum rims whose design takes up the wheels of the Revuelto.
Next, we move into sporting luxury. The entire fairing is made of carbon fiber, as are a good series of parts. On top of that, a few machined aluminum elements, a fork head where the serial number is engraved by laser, a STM EVO-SBK dry clutch, and an Akrapovic exhaust offering an extra 2.5 horsepower on the big V4. With all its superior quality equipment, the Panigale V4 Lamborghini brings its weight down to 185 kilos, 2 less than the S model.
Which already makes a strong impression with its pilot Öhlins suspension, razor-sharp chassis, state-of-the-art electronics and demonic engine. This Panigale V4 also receives, in addition to the S model (from which it is derived):
The whole (motorcycle + accessories) will be delivered in a wooden crate – the crate itself being valued by the brand to add premium touches at every level.
Like the other Lamborghini-branded Ducatis, the Panigale V4 will be produced in 630 units. To which will be added 63 more units of the even more exclusive “Speciale Clienti” series. These can only be acquired by Lamborghini owners, who can associate the colors of their car with their Panigale V4, adapt the saddle personalization, the brakes, the wheels.... The Ducati design center will take great care of them.
Why 630? Why 63? In reference to 1963, the year when Ferruccio Lamborghini created his own car brand; to show Ferrari a thing or two. The Ducati Panigale V4 of the same name will require a lot more figures on the check to arrive in a collection. Count 70,000 at a minimum. And a nice addition for the “Speciale Clienti”.
