Overview
When Noale decides to settle accounts with the stopwatch, it results in something as sharp as the Aprilia RSV4 RR in its 2019 version. There’s no need to look for a needle in a haystack: this machine was born on the Superbike World Championship circuits, and every component reminds you of that with every turn. At €16,999, it’s not aimed at the Sunday rider looking for a leisurely ride on the roads of Provence. It’s aimed at riders who know the difference between a track day and a family weekend.

The 999.6 cc V4 is at the heart of this whole story. 201 horsepower at 13,000 rpm, 115 Nm of torque at 10,500 rpm, all housed in a double-spar aluminum frame weighing 180 kg dry. These figures don’t tell the whole story. This engine has a distinctive sound and an exit-from-corners availability that its Japanese rivals struggle to match. The BMW S1000RR plays in the same league, certainly, but the V4 Transalpina has a different mechanical texture, almost organic, which locks the rider into their support from 6,000 rpm. For the 2019 version, Aprilia has streamlined the intake architecture, reducing the overall weight by several hundred grams without sacrificing peak power. The result: a motorcycle that turns at 300 km/h without complaint and returns to earth with Brembo M4 calipers biting on stainless steel floating discs. The braking is unequivocal.
What truly distinguishes the Aprilia RSV4 RR ABS from the competition is the density of its electronic package. Since the introduction of the Aprilia RSV4 RR APRC, the Italian brand has structured its assistance systems in a consistent manner. The fourth generation of this system relies on a Bosch six-axis inertial unit. Eight-level adjustable traction control, wheelie control refined by the IMU, launch control with three distinct settings, clutchless up-and-down quickshifter, pit limiter, cruise control. The color TFT dashboard centralizes everything and switches between road and track display with a simple press. The Aprilia RSV4 RR APRC is, in fact, a genuine onboard data platform. As an option, V4-MP telemetry even allows fine-tuning lap by lap from a smartphone. No other production hypersport offers this level of tool at this price point.
It would be dishonest not to point out a few realities. The 840 mm seat height mechanically excludes part of the less tall riders. The 1,420 mm wheelbase and the very committed riding position make the motorcycle unsuitable for everyday use. It’s not a machine for the city or for long journeys; it’s a machine for the track, for those who are looking for an Aprilia RSV4 RR used in classified ads because they want the same feeling as a BSB rider without spending the price of a factory preparation. On this register, it remains a reference for years, whether it’s an Aprilia RSV4 RR 2016, an Aprilia RSV4 RR 2018 or the 2019 model year that interests us here.
The Aprilia RSV4 RR price is fully justified when considering the amount of technology on board and the quality of the components. Sachs on the suspensions, Brembo on the brakes, Bosch inertial unit; it’s a list of competition subcontractors, not of large-scale production. For the experienced rider looking for a road-homologated hypersport with a defined track DNA, few machines do better. For others, there are less uncompromising alternatives. But if you’re already looked at an Aprilia RSV4 RR race pack and felt your heart rate accelerate, the answer is already written.
