Overview
Ten units. Not one more. When DG Sport, a Belgian outfit well known in the paddocks, decided to celebrate the centenary of the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in 2021, they didn't settle for a history book. They took a Honda CBR 1000 RR-R, its 217 horsepower at 14,500 rpm and inline four-cylinder displacing 999 cc, and turned it into a pure track weapon, reserved for track days. The result bears a name that hits like a flying lap through the Belgian Ardennes: Spa 100.

The project stands out because it doesn't come from a manufacturer. Aprilia offers its RSV4-X, Yamaha its GYTR — two factory machines built for tarmac. The Spa 100 plays on a different field, that of high-end private preparation. Behind the wrenches, Mario Kupper, a builder forged at Viltaïs Expériences and recognized for his work on Yamahas. The man collaborated with Franck Nourry of Thorn-Bikes before laying his hands on this Honda. The poly fairing receives the HRC livery, headlights and mirrors disappear, everything that serves no purpose between two curbs is stripped away. The CBR sheds its street attributes to become a circuit tool, clean and uncompromising.
On the chassis side, the recipe is serious. The 43 mm inverted fork keeps its architecture but receives Öhlins cartridges. At the rear, a TTX damper from the same Swedish manufacturer takes over. The steering damper follows the same Scandinavian logic. The braking system undergoes a radical overhaul: ABS removal, replacement of stock hoses with racing lines, and installation of a Brembo Corsacorta master cylinder. The two 330 mm front discs and their radial four-piston calipers retain their factory bite, but the lever feel gains in precision. The aluminum twin-spar frame stays true to the stock base — a chassis already proven in WorldSBK.

The inline four produces its 217 hp and 113.8 Nm of torque at 12,500 rpm in standard configuration. The Spa 100 pushes the envelope further with an HRC engine management unit and an Arrow exhaust system in titanium and carbon. How many extra horsepower? The exact figure hasn't been disclosed, but on a platform already this sharp, every additional horse counts. Dunlop KR slicks wrap the rims, an AFAM chain kit handles the drive, and Kupper sources clip-ons, adjustable rearsets, and a brake lever guard from Spyder. GB Racing engine covers, a Honda quickshifter, a Gess seat, and an Endurance-type screen round out the spec sheet. The stock weight of 201 kg wet with a 16-liter tank inevitably drops by a few kilos after this diet. Each unit receives a numbered plate on the fork triple clamp, and the engine is dyno broken in before Kupper personally accompanies the buyer during a track session to fine-tune the setup.
The price of this exclusivity? 29,000 euros before tax, plus 21% Belgian VAT on top. The bill stings, no question about it. But in the very exclusive segment of track-only machines, prices climb fast and the factory competition doesn't do any better. For a seasoned rider looking for a CBR 1000 RR-R ready to devour Spa-Francorchamps in a configuration honed by a professional builder, the Spa 100 represents a credible shortcut to the stopwatch. Ten units, ten owners, and a piece of history from Belgium's most legendary circuit parked in the pit box.
