Übersicht
Eighty-two horsepower for 7,990 euros. Take the time to let these two figures sink in. This is the power dynamic that the Honda CB750 Hornet has established in its segment since its debut in 2023, and it remains the offer it presents in 2026, enriched with a novelty that will change the lives of many riders.

Let's start with the engine, because that's where everything happens. This 755 cm3 parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree crankshaft is unlike any other in the category. The asymmetrical timing gives it a character close to a V-twin, with that rev range that has bite without being hysterical. The power of the Honda CB750 Hornet peaks at 92 horsepower at 9,500 rpm, the torque of the Honda CB750 Hornet reaches 75 Nm at 7,250 rpm. Compared to the MT-07 from Yamaha, the undisputed benchmark in the segment, the difference in horsepower exceeds twenty units. The Triumph Trident and its 81 horsepower, which seemed muscular not long ago, are also left behind. Honda has simply decided to set the bar too high for its rivals to clear without effort. Those who wonder how many horsepower the Honda CB750 Hornet has will find their answer in every turn.
For 2026, the major novelty is located in the left lever, or rather in its usage, which has become optional. E-Clutch is available as an option on the Honda CB750 Hornet 750, and the principle is easy to grasp. This is not an automatic transmission; the rider always selects the gears with the foot. But the physical clutch becomes superfluous in everyday use. The system continuously analyzes a dozen parameters, engine speed, speed, gear engaged, throttle opening, to independently manage the clutch phases with a precision that the human hand cannot always guarantee. Three levels of foot feel are adjustable, and the lever remains available if you feel like taking control again. This device costs a few hundred euros extra, adds 2.5 kilos to the scale and brings the weight fully fueled to 196 kilos. For riders facing physical limitations of the left hand, or simply for those who want to ride more relaxed in the city, the investment is worth considering.

On the chassis side, Honda has not walked a tightrope. A proven steel diamond frame, a 41 mm upside-down big piston fork with 130 mm of travel, a preload-adjustable mono-shock with 150 mm of stroke. The suspension is not adjustable as a whole, which is not surprising at this price. The seat height of 795 mm remains manageable for most builds, and the Honda CB750 Hornet A2 does exist in a version restricted to 47 horsepower for A2 licenses, which opens this chassis to a much wider audience. The braking system entrusted to two 296 mm discs gripped by four-piston Nissin radial mount calipers is effective and controllable, without the nervousness found in some Italian manufacturers. The rear tire in 160 rather than 180 as with some competitors is a clever choice, prioritizing agility over aesthetics.

The onboard electronics confirm the offensive positioning. Four riding modes, including one customizable, three-level traction control with integrated wheelie management, adjustable engine braking, ABS, quickshifter available as an option, five-inch anti-glare TFT screen with smartphone connectivity. The price of a new Honda CB750 Hornet at 7,990 euros for this level of equipment remains difficult to compete with in the category. The opinion on the Honda CB750 Hornet has been almost unanimous on this point since 2023. The 2026 aesthetic facelift, more discreet but successful, finally gives it a face worthy of its performance. The Hornet only takes the name of the old lineage and its spirit of accessible and efficient roadster. It does not seek to revive a ghost, it carves its own path, and for now, no one really manages to stick to its wheels.
