Overview
Three thousand five hundred and eighty-seven euros for a 350 cc roadster with a 43mm upside-down fork, J.Juan braking and a single-cylinder engine bored to 84.5 x 62mm. The math is straightforward, and that is precisely what Zontes wants you to do when you look at the 350 GK. The Chinese brand is not playing the exotic card or the heritage card; it is playing the value-for-money card, and on that ground, the argument is hard to dismiss.

Beneath the roadster's minimal bodywork, the 348cc four-stroke single delivers 39.4 horsepower at 9,500 rpm and 32.4 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. These are not numbers that set dyno sheets on fire, but the machine needs to be put in context. For a claimed kerb weight of 188 kg, the power-to-weight ratio is respectable, and the relatively high-revving torque peak lends the package a somewhat sporty character, where many competitors in this displacement class favour a lower torque curve and a more linear delivery. The 12.3:1 compression ratio confirms that Zontes did not dumb the engine down in the name of docility; there is an intention of character here.
The six-speed gearbox and chain final drive are expected choices in this category, but the presence of a large-diameter telescopic fork up front and a monoshock at the rear positions the 350 GK above what is typically found at this price point. The 17-litre fuel tank deserves a mention as well: on a machine that clearly targets mixed urban and road use, range is a genuine selling point, especially since a single-cylinder of this displacement tends to return reasonable fuel consumption figures. The braking hardware, sourced from J.Juan — the Spanish supplier whose components also appear on considerably more expensive machines — is another pleasant surprise on paper.

The real debate opens when you survey the competitive landscape. The CFMoto 450NK arrives with more displacement and a level of finish that the brand has refined after years of presence in European markets. The QJ Motor SRK 400 puts forward similar arguments. And Royal Enfield, with its Hunter 350 or Meteor, brings a visual identity and a heritage that Zontes simply cannot claim, even if the target customer is not exactly the same. What the 350 GK can put on the table, however, is that aggressive entry price, which makes it a credible option for an A2 licence holder looking to step up in displacement without draining their current account.

The target audience is fairly clear: intermediate rider, A2 licence holder, or simply a rider who has no need for more than 40 horsepower for daily commutes and weekend runs on secondary roads. The Zontes 350 GK is not built for wide-open blasts, nor for Sunday track day enthusiasts. It is built for the rider who wants a solid, reasonably well-equipped motorcycle at a price that leaves money left over for accessories and maintenance. The unknowns remain long-term durability and the after-sales network, which continue to be the question mark hanging over Chinese brands in Europe. If Zontes delivers on that front, the 350 GK will have every reason to exist.
