Overview
Is this still a motorcycle? At €50,000, the 2024 MV Agusta Rush 1000 flirts with the idea of a mechanical work of art, an ostentatious statement rather than a simple vehicle. Its stratospheric price immediately raises the question of its target audience: not the Sunday rider, but the wealthy collector seeking a sculpture capable of exceeding 300 km/h. For this price, you buy a symbol, a hyperbole on two wheels.

Technically, it remains rooted in the Brutale family, with its 998 cc four-cylinder engine producing 208 horsepower at 13,000 rpm, a figure that still dominates many hyper-sports bikes. The 2021 revision, to meet Euro 5 standards, mainly refined its behavior, reducing vibrations and improving mid-range torque. But the heart of the Rush is not in its already proven internals, but in its appearance. It is the ultimate expression of MV Agusta design: a sculpted rear almost extraterrestrial, a headlight worthy of a concept car, integrated winglets, and this atypical spoked front wheel that directly references the SuperVeloce. Carbon fiber is omnipresent, quilted yellow leather and Alcantara dress the seat, every piece seems machined with an aesthetic intention. It is a motorcycle that looks at its reflection in the mirror as much as it looks at the road.
The equipment, however, is uncompromising. Öhlins electronic suspension, Brembo Stylema brakes, a 5.5-inch connected TFT dashboard, and a plethora of riding electronics with 8-level traction control, anti-wheelie, cornering ABS, and cruise control. Everything is there to master the engine's fury. But is that really the essence? The test of the MV Agusta Rush 1000 often reveals that its true territory is the showroom or private salons. Its dry weight of 186 kg and its 845 mm seat height make it agile, but its 16-liter tank and explosive character are more suited to short, spectacular feats than long journeys.

Compared to its competitors, such as the Ducati Streetfighter V4 or the KTM 1290 Super Duke R, the Rush 1000 doesn't play in the same category. They are brutal but reasonable hyper-roadsters. The MV Agusta Rush 1000, on the other hand, is a limited edition, a production deliberately restricted to 300 units to cultivate its exclusivity. Its price, which has seen a notable inflation since the 2020 model, is as much a marketing argument as a figure. The supplied race kit, with its Arrow exhaust and racing ECU in a wooden box, confirms this vocation as a rare object.

Ultimately, this machine is a paradox. It has the power to humiliate a racetrack, but its essence is to be admired. It is the answer to the question "How fast is the MV Agusta Rush 1000?", but also to "How many MV Agusta Rush 1000 were made?". Its value lies in its rarity, in its status as a motorized collector's item. For the rider seeking pure sensation, there are less expensive and more focused options. The Rush 1000 2024 is for those who want to possess a myth, a fragment of MV Agusta history, even if it means paying the price of a small work of art. It is less a motorcycle than a trophy.
