Overview
You think you’ve already seen aggressive roadsters? Wait until you come face to face with the MV Agusta Rush 1000. It’s not a motorcycle, it’s a rolling declaration of war, a brutal spotlight on what Italy can produce when it decides to ignore all notions of reason. With its stealth aircraft look and “danger” decals, this 2021 edition doesn’t ask for permission, it demands it.

Beneath this meticulously crafted design, like a piece of mechanical jewelry, beats the heart of a wild one. The inline four-cylinder engine, inherited from the Brutale 1000, delivers 208 horsepower at 13,000 rpm, with 116.5 Nm of torque that arrives high, very high, in the rev range. It’s a pure and hard circuit engine that feels cramped below 8,000 rpm. For the rider, this translates to explosive propulsion, a permanent invitation to graze the rev limiter. With the race kit supplied as standard – an SC Project exhaust and its dedicated ECU – the power even climbs to 212 hp, promising top speeds beyond 300 km/h. This is far from a city roadster.
But an MV Agusta Rush 1000 is not just about its engine. It’s a concentration of high-end technology that explains its price of €38,800. The brand’s signature tubular trellis frame is dressed with CNC-machined parts and carbon fiber. The Öhlins suspensions, front and rear, are fully electronically adjustable, as is the huge package of riding aids: 8-level traction control, wheelie control, cornering ABS, cruise control, and even a GPS module. The 5.5-inch TFT dashboard interacts with your smartphone. It’s complete, sophisticated, and sometimes a little overwhelming.

Who is this beast for? Certainly not a beginner, nor even a Sunday touring rider. The announced weight of 210 kg fully fueled, a seat height of 845 mm, and a tank of only 16 liters betray its true playground: winding roads and occasional track sessions. It’s the motorcycle for the passionate collector, the experienced rider seeking the ultimate mechanical work of art, much more than a simple means of transportation. Faced with competitors like the Ducati Streetfighter V4 or the KTM 1290 Super Duke R, which are more versatile and much less expensive, the Rush positions itself as a rare, almost exclusive object of desire.

Because that’s really the point. The MV Agusta Rush 1000 is a limited edition, produced in only 300 copies. This status, coupled with its lavish equipment and radical aesthetics, justifies its high price and uncompromising character. It consumes a lot (nearly 6.6 L/100 km), it is demanding, and its maintenance will be expensive. But for those who can afford it and want it, it offers an unparalleled sensory experience and status. It’s the quintessence of an excessive roadster, a magnificent and assumed madness that leaves an indelible mark.
