Overview
At what point does a motorcycle cease to be a simple vehicle and become a motorized work of art, a narcissistic statement to ride? Ask the team in Varese, and they will pull the Rush 1000 from the catalog. It’s not a motorcycle; it’s a manifesto. A furious brushstroke on a Brutale 1000 base, transforming an already wild hyper-naked into an exhibitionist showpiece. The eye is immediately drawn to this truncated rear end, spaceship-style, the partially hidden rear wheel that borders on a gadget, and the wings integrated into the radiator shoulders. It’s eye-catching, unapologetic, and totally Italian. It’s far from the German or Japanese sobriety; here, the design shouts before the engine has even turned over.

Yet, beneath this deluge of carbon fiber and CNC-machined parts, beats a serious heart. The 998 cc inline four-cylinder engine, inherited from the Brutale but massively reworked, is a gem. It delivers 208 horsepower at 13,000 rpm, a power output that puts the majority of pure-bred hypersport machines on the defensive. Torque, however, remains an aristocrat of the high revs, with 116.5 Nm arriving at 11,000 rpm. Euro 5 homologation provided the opportunity to refine the beast: new camshafts, DLC treatments, and a reinforced clutch. The result? A more civilized engine at low revs without losing any of its explosive character once the tachometer is running wild. With the original Arrow racing kit and its dedicated ECU, the 212 horsepower mark is exceeded, and 300 km/h on the speedometer becomes a mere formality.
But this raw power would be unmanageable without an electronic arsenal to match. The 2023 Rush doesn’t joke around: four power maps, an eight-level traction control system, a wheelie control, an up/down shifter, and even a latest-generation cornering ABS. The 5.5-inch TFT dashboard, which is connected, allows everything to be configured from your smartphone. The chassis is a faithful reflection of this high-end philosophy. The tubular trellis frame, an MV signature, is dressed in Öhlins suspensions that are fully adjustable and electronically controlled. Brembo Stylema brakes bite on 320 mm discs. Every component proclaims that performance is non-negotiable. This test of the MV Agusta Rush 1000 confirms that it is not a compromise motorcycle.

So, who is this machine for? Certainly not for the novice, nor even for the Sunday rider. The 845 mm seat height, the committed riding position, and the engine's sharp character are destined for the experienced rider, the demanding collector, the one who seeks a rare object as much as a strong sensation. This is where the shoe pinches, or rather where the wallet cries. With a price approaching 38,200 euros, the Rush 1000 sits in a financial stratosphere. This price, significantly higher than that of a Brutale 1000 RR, is explained by its status as an object limited to 300 units. You are buying a museum piece, a signed work, delivered with its racing kit and certificate of authenticity in a wooden crate. The question "what is the price of an MV Agusta Rush 1000?" finds its answer: that of an exclusive dream.

Faced with competitors such as the Ducati Streetfighter V4 S or the KTM 1290 Super Duke R EVO, which are more versatile and considerably less expensive, the Rush plays a completely different game. It is not there to win rational comparisons, but to exist as a symbol. It is proof that MV Agusta, despite its problems, still retains an incredible ability to create electrifying motorcycles, which put emotion above all else. Is it reasonable? No. Is it memorable? Absolutely.
