Overview
Who else can afford to release an exclusive supersport at €27,500 in a market turning away from pure sportbikes? MV Agusta, obviously. The 2024 F3 800 RC carries on a near-annual ritual for the Varese manufacturer: dressing its mid-displacement racer in the colors of the Reparto Corse, the in-house competition department. Limited to 200 units, this edition is now built on the F3 800 RR platform, which changes quite a few things beneath the fairings. The Italian tricolor of red, white, and green is displayed without restraint, yet with a certain elegance. You can see the influence of machines raced in Moto2 and World Supersport. It's bold, it's unapologetic, and it remains tasteful. MV Agusta through and through.

The real story is what hides behind the livery. Compared to the 2020 MV Agusta F3 800 RC, the 798 cc triple has undergone a serious overhaul to meet Euro5 standards. Revised valve guides, new crankshaft and piston bearings, modified exhaust headers, reworked engine mapping, optimized clutch. With the racing kit included in the box—a titanium Akrapovic exhaust and its dedicated ECU—power climbs to 155 horsepower at 13,250 rpm with 88 Nm of torque at 10,100 rpm. All on a 165 kg dry weight, giving a power-to-weight ratio that rivals certain 1000 cc machines from ten years ago. The 13.3:1 compression ratio and the oversquare bore-and-stroke of 79 x 54.3 mm confirm the high-revving character of this engine. You have to enjoy wringing out the six-speed gearbox to extract its full potential.
The chassis has also evolved since the 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 model years. The tubular steel trellis frame receives stiffer aluminum side plates. The widened fairings integrate standard winglets, the front fender houses cooling ducts for the brake calipers, and the rear wheel sheds 10% of its mass. The 43 mm inverted fork benefits from a titanium nitride TiN coating for silkier action. The braking system, with its two 320 mm front discs radially mounted on four-piston calipers, lives up to the machine's ambitions. The racing kit also adds a race-type fuel cap, machined levers, and a matching seat cowl.
On the electronics front, the 2024 MV Agusta F3 800 RC closes the gap. The ABS, supplied by Continental, incorporates an inertial measurement unit for cornering functionality. The 5.5-inch TFT display opens the door to Bluetooth, GPS, and the MV Ride app. Four riding modes, traction control, anti-wheelie, launch control, third-generation EAS quickshifter, Mobisat tracker: the spec sheet is comprehensive. Against a Ducati Panigale V2 or a Triumph Daytona 660, the F3 occupies a class of its own—more exclusive and more artisanal, but also significantly more expensive. For those seeking a used MV Agusta F3 800 RC from the 2021, 2022, or 2023 generations, prices remain strong, proof that resale values hold well on this type of limited series.
The question of audience remains. At this price and with this race-oriented ergonomics, the F3 800 RC is aimed neither at beginners nor at weekend riders. It's a machine for the passionate, almost for the collector, who wants to hit the track on a rare and beautiful object. MV Agusta continues to believe in the supersport when others have thrown in the towel. You can debate the commercial relevance, but not the flair.
