Overview
Once a small fortune has been cracked open, the lucky Road Glide rider may not have enough of the horizon to appreciate all the exuberance of this machine. The engine alone could capture all the attention. Huge, overflowing, permeated from end to end with cooling fins steeped in the history of Milwaukee and curious about modernism with the adoption of liquid cooling for the cylinder head. Torque? With almost 16 Nm, it would lift an elephant. Prestige? The guttural, unsteady, and fat melody of the Twin Cam 110 alone is enough to present the reputation. With 1801 cm3, the Screamin' Eagle is the largest in the range.
With the particularity of relying on the chassis, the huge fork constrains the steering less than on an Electra, which must support the Batwing. Revised with the Rushmore project, its vents allow to reduce the pressure and the swirls. A set of Daymaker LED headlights changes little of the look but consequentially the efficiency. To finish the whole, a bubble with chrome inserts tops the fairing.
The Road Glide is a large cargo capacity with two saddlebags and the Tour-Pak. In CVO, it is such a plethora of accessories that one would almost accept the exorbitant price. Take a moment longer for your eyes to savor the sparkling Slicer wheels, the multiple ubiquitous chromes, the selection of Airflow collection parts (footboard pads, passenger footboard pads, gear selector tips, brake pedal and protector plate, advanced footrests, heated grips with rubber inserts and gear selector shaft), a seat worthy of a high-end car (two perforated leather armchairs with adjustable passenger backrest and integrated heating)... One would almost forget the standard equipment found on more common models. But still: cruise control, Brembo brakes with ABS and Reflex coupling, Boom! Box 6.5 GT sound entertainment console with 75 watts per channel and GPS, H-D Smart hands-free system, pneumatic rear suspension, One-Touch opening/closing concept,... it could go on for a long time. 2016 lingers a little longer on this list with the appearance of a tire pressure monitoring system, which can be checked at any time on the dashboard. A new transponder key replaces the two remote controls and the turn signals are now LED.
