Overview
What remains of a flat tracker when it goes through the wringer of regulations and marketing? The Ducati Scrambler 800 Full Throttle, in its 2026 version, attempts to answer without denying its DNA. The flashy red of the early models is gone, replaced by a black suit enhanced with bronze accents, a matured matte café racer look that assumes its retro side without going overboard. The rims remain a highlight, and this number plate under the seat continues to proclaim its dirt track inspiration, a nod to the first Scrambler of 1962.

Under this stylized veneer, the mechanics evolve in power. The 803 cm3 L-twin still spits out 73 horsepower at 8250 rpm, with a torque of 65.2 Nm well present from the mid-range. But the real change is the dry weight. Bologna has managed to lighten the whole thing by 4 kg, notably via a redesigned frame and swingarm, while the engine alone loses 2.5 kg. You can feel the desire to gain agility, even if the displayed weight of 176 kg when ready to ride remains in the middle of the category. Compared to a Triumph Street Scrambler or a Moto Guzzi V7, the Ducati plays the card of pure dynamism, aided by an engaged riding position, low handlebars and a specific seat at 795 mm high.
The cycle parts confirm this sporty orientation. The 41 mm inverted fork and the single shock absorber, with 150 mm of travel on each side, are borrowed from the Icon, but it is on the braking that the Full Throttle scores points. A 330 mm front disc pinched by a 4-piston radial Brembo caliper, paired with cornering ABS, offers bite that rivals more aggressive roadsters. Electronics make their entrance with two riding modes, Road and Wet, and 4-level traction control. Instrumentation goes to a 4.3-inch color TFT screen, even if its decorative bezel may seem a little cheap for some purists.

The question of the Termignoni exhaust remains, now more discreet to satisfy Euro 5+, far from the thunderous dual silencer of the early versions. A necessary compromise, just like the gas silencer, cleverly concealed but well present. At 12,790 euros, this Ducati Scrambler 800 Full Throttle positions itself as the most lively and stylish option in the Scrambler range. It targets the urban rider or sporty touring rider who wants a touch of Italian character without the excesses of a SuperSport. It is neither the most versatile nor the most comfortable on long distances, but its mischievous temperament and affirmed look make it an endearing machine, halfway between neo-retro and agile roadster. A Ducati Scrambler 800 Full Throttle test remains the best way to feel if this alchemy works for you.
