Overview
Can a motorcycle be both an icon of the past and a modern proposition without betraying its essence? With this 2024 Ducati Scrambler 800 Full Throttle, the answer comes as quickly as a twin engine climbs in the rev range. This machine, absent from the radar for a time, returns powerfully to the Next Gen lineup, more determined than ever to defend its flat track DNA. This is not a simple customization, but the most spirited member of the family, facing the more restrained Icon and the Nightshift.

From the first glance, the message is clear. The “62” number plate under the seat, a nod to the year of birth of the first Scrambler, the razor-edge front fender and the clean rear fender announce the color. The dirt track inspiration is palpable, even if the Euro5 era imposes its rules. The Termignoni exhaust, although less theatrical than the dual exhaust of previous generations like the Ducati Scrambler 800 Full Throttle 2019, adds torque to the twin-cylinder engine. The brand has also cleverly hidden the homologation chamber, a necessary evil on recent models. The lowered handlebars, the specific seat, and the standard Up&Down quickshifter complete a picture resolutely focused on engaged riding.
Beneath this retro-modernized look, the technical evolutions are real. Revised frame and swingarm, combined with a refined engine, have allowed to shave off nearly 4 kilos on the scale. The heart still beats with the characteristic 73 horsepower of the family, a power we have known since the Ducati Scrambler 800 Full Throttle 2015. The real novelty lies in the electronics: two riding modes (Road and Rain) and adjustable traction control come to assist the rider. The instrumentation moves to a 4.3-inch color TFT screen, although its decorative bezel tries a little too hard to be retro.

The chassis, shared with the Icon model, remains solid. A 41 mm inverted fork, a central mono-shock, and Brembo braking with a 330 mm front disc offer honest sensations. With a wet weight of 185 kg and a seat height of 795 mm, it remains accessible. But its 13.5-liter tank and lively temperament are more suited to sporty rides than long rallies. Facing a Triumph Street Scrambler 900, more docile and touring-oriented, the Ducati embraces its nervous and mischievous side.

Ultimately, this 2024 Full Throttle is a consistent proposition. It will seduce the rider seeking an authentic neo-retro, ready to play spoiler on winding roads. At 12,390 euros, the entry price is typical of the brand, but you are also paying for this unique aura and a temperament that has not been diluted. It is not the most versatile or comfortable motorcycle in the segment, but it is probably the most rebellious. A test ride of the Ducati Scrambler 800 Full Throttle 2025, if it continues on this path, will undoubtedly confirm that the rebellious spirit is still very much alive in Bologna.
