Overview

Imagine a Panigale V4 SP2 that decided to go on a trip. Not a simple weekend getaway, no, a real European tour with luggage, radar, and configurable riding modes. That's essentially what the Ducati Multistrada V4 RS is. Produced in a numbered series, with a laser-engraved plate on the fork tube to remind its owner of the exclusivity of the object, this RS version pushes the range’s philosophy to a point that even the Pikes Peak hadn’s dared to cross. The Granturismo engine that powers the rest of the family? Forget about it. Here, it’s the 1,103 cm³ Desmosedici Stradale, from Borgo Panigale’s hypersportives, that does the work. Desmodromic distribution, an air filter borrowed from the Panigale V4 R, a dry STM-EVO SBK aluminum clutch, and an Akrapovic silencer specifically developed for this model. The power of the Ducati Multistrada V4 RS reaches 180 horsepower at 12,250 rpm, for a torque of 118 Nm at 9,500 rpm. These figures, on a 225 kg trail bike fully fueled, give a power density that few touring bikes can claim.

Ducati Multistrada V4 RS

The chassis tells the same story. Specific aluminum monocoque frame, steering geometry tighter than a standard V4 S, rake angle at 25.75°, forged Marchesini wheels 2.7 kg lighter, Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa tires in 120/70-17 front and 190/55-17 rear. The Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 electronically piloted “event based” suspensions self-adjust in real time, with an inverted telescopic fork of 48 mm and 170 mm of travel on both sides. Braking comes directly from the Panigale V4: 330 mm Brembo discs at the front with Stylema monoblock calipers, 265 mm at the rear, managed by the Bosch-Brembo 10.3ME cornering ABS. Facing a KTM 1290 Super Adventure R or a BMW S 1000 XR, the V4 RS plays in a different price category, but also in a different technical dimension. These two competitors are very good versatile bikes. The Ducati Multistrada V4 RS 2025 is something else.

The electronics follow the same reasoning. Four riding modes (Race, Sport, Touring, Urban), four power levels including a Full Power mode introduced for the first time in the Multistrada range, traction control DTC, wheelie control DWC, engine brake control EBC on three levels, bidirectional quickshifter, adaptive cruise control with front and rear radar. The 6.5-inch TFT dashboard displays an interface directly inspired by the Track mode of the Panigale, with real-time visualization of electronic interventions. Saddle height is fixed at 840 mm, which clearly positions the bike out of reach of short riders, especially with a saddle designed for a more sporty ergonomics, raised footpegs and a handlebar rigidly fixed to the upper fork tube.

Ducati Multistrada V4 RS

The question of the price of the Ducati Multistrada V4 RS 2025 inevitably arises. At 38,690 euros, this machine is not a reasonable proposition. It has never claimed to be. Its buyer knows exactly what he is looking for: a bike capable of devouring 500 kilometers of national road on a Tuesday, then carving clean lines on a winding pass on Thursday, without ever compromising on sensations. The 22-liter tank, valve maintenance postponed to 30,000 km, automatic rear cylinder deactivation in case of thermal overheating at a standstill, ventilated smartphone compartment, these details show that Ducati has not sacrificed daily use on the altar of sportiness. It is precisely there that lies the intelligence of the project. For an experienced rider who wants the best possible tool without choosing between Sunday circuit riding and vacation departures, the Ducati Multistrada V4 RS technical specifications speak for themselves. The others can wait on the shoulder.
