Overview
The famous orange frame! Here is the off-road version of the 1090 Adventure. To transform this road trail into a true off-road mount, it was first necessary to modify the suspension. That's what KTM has done with this version, equipped with greater travel (220 mm). At the front, the 48 mm WP inverted fork is fitted with stiffer springs. For the rear, a DPS shock absorber handles pumping with progressive WP suspension. As footwear, it receives knobby tires (Continental TKC80 Twinduro) encompassing a 21-inch spoked wheel at the front and, for the rear, still spokes and an 18-inch diameter.
To stop the machine, you can rely on the ABSBosch 9M+. This has the particularity of possessing a mode allowing the rear wheel to be locked while retaining ABS at the front. Very useful off-road to control rear wheel slip. This electronic aid will team up with four-setting traction control. Everything will be selectable via an LCD screen.
In terms of comfort, the handlebar, footrests, levers and windscreen are adjustable. The bubble is shortened for greater visual comfort in degraded conditions. The engine, sufficiently powerful and much less intimidating than the 1290, develops 125 horsepower and 109 Nm of torque. Enough to be optimistic with the throttle. But in case of an excessive lean or stubborn obstacles, a set of crash bars is there to save the essentials.
A very nice version, therefore, intended for those who prefer their 1090 to roam the trails rather than the urban tarmac.
