Overview

When Bologna designs a family, it draws boundaries. The V4 retains its four cylinders, its 170 horsepower, and its loyal clientele who don’t argue about the price. The Ducati Multistrada V2 S, on the other hand, inherits another role: to defend the L-twin, that characteristic V-twin cylinder that Ducati has cultivated for decades as others cultivate a grape variety. This is not a second-tier heritage. It is a distinct identity in its own right, and the 937 cm3 S version now embraces it without complexes or glances towards its big sister.

Ducati Multistrada V2 S

What first strikes you is the visual continuity with the 950 S it replaces. A few retouched decals, a colored stripe under the seat, and that's about all the eye captures. The real evolutions sneak in where you can’t see them. Two kilograms lost in the entrails of the engine, distributed between the clutch, the connecting rods, and the six-speed gearbox. Net result on the scale: 202 kg dry weight, five kilograms less than the previous generation, with an additional 1.7 kg shaved off the rims. Power remains stable at 113 horsepower at 9000 rpm and 94 Nm of torque at 6750 rpm. Those seeking the technical specifications of the Ducati Multistrada V2 S will not find a quantitative revolution, but a serious refinement. Note also the arrival of a 35 kW restricted version for A2 license holders, which considerably broadens the spectrum of potential buyers.

The S version is distinguished primarily by its electronics, shamelessly borrowed from the V4S’s toolbox. Skyhook Evo semi-active suspension pilots compression, rebound, and preload in real time on both ends, via an inverted 48 mm fork and a fully adjustable monoshock. Four riding modes orient the overall behavior: Sport, Touring, Urban, Enduro. Added to this are adaptive cornering lights, a bidirectional quickshifter, keyless start, a five-inch color TFT screen, and a six-axis inertial unit that pilots cornering ABS and traction control. For a Ducati Multistrada V2 S travel model intended for long journeys, standard cruise control is a welcome certainty. The 20-liter tank, coupled with a consumption announced at 5.9 liters per hundred, offers correct theoretical range before being subjected to the reality of an engine you don’t want to baby.

The flip side of the medal is named €18,690. At that price, finding heated grips relegated to an option is difficult to defend. Premium German or Japanese manufacturers include them as standard on cheaper machines. Ducati, true to its habits, prefers to direct towards its accessories catalog, generously stocked: cases, center stand, Termignoni exhaust, spoked wheels, carbon fiber protections. The base machine is well equipped, but the total budget can quickly climb. On the Ducati Multistrada V2 S used market, examples of this generation are beginning to appear at more reasonable price levels, which makes it a serious track for those who want the technology package without the new price.

Ducati Multistrada V2 S

Faced with a KTM 890 Adventure R or a Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro, the V2 S plays in a different court in terms of price and electronic sophistication. It targets the confirmed globetrotter who wants engine character, a true road-dirt versatility, and driving aids of a higher level, without switching to the V4 and its €23,000. The positioning is consistent, the technical execution solid. The Ducati Multistrada V2 S 2025 continues this trajectory without disruption, which is both its strength and its only real flaw: it lacks the element of surprise that a machine of this level deserves.
