Overview
In Indonesia, Thailand, or Vietnam, there's no joking about the essentials. When Yamaha unveils the Alba 110, it's not to seduce the aesthetes of European shows, but to conquer the congested arteries of Jakarta or Ho Chi Minh City. This sporty bike with an evocative name is above all a tool of pure mobility, crafted from the simple steel of a double-cradle frame and powered by a single-cylinder four-stroke engine of unshakeable robustness.

Its 106 cm³ engine breathes simplicity. A bore of 49 mm and a stroke of 56 mm, a compression ratio of 9.5:1, all air-cooled: the recipe is timeless. The 10.2 horsepower at 7500 rpm and the 7.9 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm won't crush the competition, but they ensure smooth progression and exemplary frugality. Coupled with a four-speed gearbox and final chain drive, this engine block is built to last well beyond the first aesthetic shocks.
With a claimed dry weight of 119 kg, the Alba 110 can be handled with one hand. The chassis follows this logic of efficient minimalism: hydraulic telescopic fork at the front, adjustable rear shock absorber, and, crucially, braking entirely handled by drums. A choice that may be surprising on a sporty bike, but one justified by its low maintenance and sufficient effectiveness for urban speeds. The 3.00-18 tires mounted on both wheels provide stability and comfort on sometimes chaotic road surfaces.
The 12-liter fuel tank promises considerable range for such a modest displacement, and the 160 mm ground clearance allows it to tackle potholes without flinching. This Yamaha Alba 110 does not claim to be the queen of the track. It is much more than that: an intelligent, economical, and incredibly reliable transport solution for millions of Asian riders. It reminds us that sport, in certain parts of the world, is first and foremost a race against the clock to arrive at work on time, loaded with groceries and with a passenger on the back. A role it assumes with disarming humility and efficiency.
