Overview
On small displacement motorcycles, the Café Racer style is often a promise of cheapness. The Peda Cafe Racer 125, however, embraces its status as a learning machine with a silhouette that doesn’t cut corners. This 124 cm3 single-cylinder engine with 10.7 horsepower isn’t intended to burn up the asphalt, but it offers an entry point into a consistent aesthetic universe, far from disguised scooters.

Its four-stroke single-cylinder engine, with a generous bore of 57 mm for a short stroke, is designed for responsiveness at low and mid-range RPMs. The 9 Nm of torque arrives at 8000 RPM, and peak power reaches 9500 RPM. This gives a motorcycle that pulls a little beyond the rev limiter, but is perfectly comfortable in the city and on secondary roads. The advertised top speed of 105 km/h is a goal more than a daily reality, but it allows you to avoid being a hindrance on major roads.
With a dry weight of 123 kilos, the Peda is light and maneuverable. The wheelbase of 1350 mm provides reassuring stability for a novice, without compromising its agility in tight turns. The 13-liter tank, honorable for the category, promises a range that far exceeds the commute to driving school. The rear tire in 130/70-17, a generous size for a 125, contributes to the overall balance and muscular aesthetics of the machine.
The compression ratio of 10:1 indicates an engine designed to operate without frills, likely fueled by a simple carburetor and air-cooled. This is rudimentary, reliable, and easy-to-maintain mechanics, perfect for those who want to learn without complexes. Faced with a Honda CB125R or a Yamaha MT-125, the Peda Cafe Racer 125 plays the retro look and contained price card. It does not claim to compete in technology or performance, but it fulfills its role as a first motorcycle with a certain flair. It is a proposition for the apprentice rider who wants character without breaking the bank, and who understands that the essential is played elsewhere than on the speedometer.
