Overview
Do you remember the day you saw your first Hayabusa? It wasn't a motorcycle; it was a statement. A gesture of mechanical arrogance carved from fiber and aluminum, designed for a single mission: to swallow the horizon. While the world seemed to turn its back on grand express motorcycles, Suzuki dared to bring back the falcon. The new Suzuki Hayabusa, in its 2024 version, is not a simple update. It’s a strategic, almost philosophical, rebalancing. It sacrifices 7 horsepower compared to the previous model, displaying 190 hp at 9700 rpm, to gain civility. A bold gamble, but when the 150 Nm of torque unfolds from 7000 rpm, you understand that the goal is no longer solely the speedometer’s frenzy, but the density of the thrust.

Look at it. Its silhouette remains a recognizable UFO, an aerodynamic block weighing 264 kg fully fueled that seems to defy the laws of physics at idle. The perimeter aluminum frame, adjustable KYB suspension, and 320 mm Brembo Stylema brakes form a combination that speaks more of absolute stability than track nervousness. It’s not a motorcycle for scraping your knee; it’s a machine for flattening continents. The slightly upright riding position, the 20-liter fuel tank, and the 800 mm seat confirm this vocation as a supersonic cruiser. At €19,199, it’s expensive, but it buys a myth.
And what a myth. Beneath its apparent fidelity to the original DNA, the new Suzuki Hayabusa has undergone a digital revolution. The time when its only gadget was fuel injection is over. Now, an inertial measurement unit orchestrates an arsenal: traction control and wheelie control with 10 levels, anti-stoppie, cruise control, launch control, and even an adjustable speed limiter. The bi-directional quickshifter and the three power modes transform this monster into a tameable animal. The small TFT screen housed between the analog gauges, a nod to purists, recalls that here, tradition and technology live together.
Compared to a Kawasaki Ninja H2, which is wilder and supercharged, or a Ducati Panigale V4, which is more radical, the 2023 Hayabusa cultivates its difference. It’s not the most powerful, nor the lightest. Its maximum speed is limited to 299 km/h, a figure that remains its historical argument. But it is undoubtedly the most serene, the most confident at speeds where others begin to quiver. It’s a machine for the aesthete of pure speed, for those who want to travel very fast, very far, and very comfortably. It is aimed at the demanding globetrotter who refuses compromise, or the collector who wants the last word of a legend.
So, is this third generation up to the name? Absolutely. Suzuki hasn’t created a revolution, but a profound and intelligent evolution. By sacrificing a handful of horsepower, they have given the Hayabusa a maturity and electronic versatility that it lacked. It remains a symbol of excess, a fascinating object that still turns heads. Finding a used Suzuki Hayabusa can be a good deal, but the new one, with all its arsenal, justifies its new price for those who want to experience the complete experience, from the purr of the 1340 cm³ four-cylinder engine to the controlled frenzy of its acceleration. It’s more than a motorcycle; it’s a monument on wheels.
