Overview
Who, upon encountering a long straightaway or a childhood memory, hasn't shivered at the mention of this name? The Suzuki Hayabusa, it's not just a motorcycle, it's a monument. A legendary block forged in aluminum and excess, which since 1999 has planted its bomber aerodynamics in the motorcycle landscape. The version we're talking about here, a special anniversary edition, proves that even in 2015, the peregrine falcon didn't need a revolution to continue soaring above the rest.

Beneath its red and black bicolor livery – the only true distinguishing feature of this limited series – beats the same oversized heart. A 1340 cm3 inline-four that, even restrained by the wisdom of the times, delivers a telluric force of 198 horsepower. The torque? 155 Nm, a mass that presses you against the tank as soon as the tachometer approaches 7200 rpm. At this level, the numbers become almost abstract. What matters is this feeling of inexhaustible reserve, this certainty that no matter your speed, a simple twist of the wrist will propel you further, faster. The announced top speed, 310 km/h, is less an objective than a simple administrative formality for this machine.
But a Hayabusa is not just a missile. With its 252 kg of full weight and a wheelbase of nearly a meter fifty, it imposes a regal, majestic ride. It swallows asphalt more than it scars it. Don't ask for the agility of a GSX-R 1000 in tight turns; its element is the space highway, the large curves where its stability becomes hypnotic. The aluminum twin-spar frame, adjustable suspension, and disc brakes wrapped in ABS form a set of bewildering maturity. It's a hypersport for reasonable people, or at least those who want to travel very fast in relative comfort.
Who is it for today? Certainly not a beginner, who would be overwhelmed by this mass and this power. It's the mount of the demanding globetrotter who refuses to compromise on pure performance, the collector who wants a piece of living history, or the enthusiast seeking a unique platform for preparations, in the image of the famous turbo Suzuki Hayabusa that populate fantasies. Its price, around 16,000 euros at the time, already positioned it in the big leagues. Today, searching for a used Suzuki Hayabusa, whether on Le Bon Coin or elsewhere, remains an excellent plan to acquire an icon at a more accessible price.
The new 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa, and by extension the 2022 and 2023 models, have since modernized the formula with electronics and a revised design. But this 2015 generation, and especially this anniversary edition, captures the pure essence of the myth. It represents the end of an era, that of a motorcycle designed primarily to push physical limits, not to tick electronic boxes. Riding it is piloting a page of history, a statement of intent that has not aged. Suzuki Hayabusa 2021 accessories will fit the new ones, but the aura remains inextricably linked to these ancestors with piercing gazes.
