Overview
Among Suzuki’s road solutions, the GSX-S1000GX is certainly the most iconoclastic motorcycle. This crossover combines comfort, power, a significant electronic technology package, and a face that stirs emotions. Plus, this machine has plenty of punch. But its hefty price, far from Suzuki’s usual habits, and its less generous equipment compared to the competition somewhat detract from it.
The + version should help things a bit. This additional pack brings it all the elements it lacks to truly embrace a GT vocation. First, heated grips, the first element of survival when the cold asserts itself more than the will and/or resistance. Next, the machine takes care of the rear with a more comfortable saddle set; and also more elegant, with red stitching and the GSX-S logo embroidered on the passenger contour.
The most significant feature of the GSX-S1000GX + is presented at the level of its hips. Two large suitcases take place to carry the essentials for a brief stay. 26 liters of capacity each, equivalent to a few sweaters and sandwiches or a full-face helmet in each hold accompanied by a large muffin.
Some will say that all this should be standard on this maxi-road-sport-trail..... As a consolation prize, Suzuki is making an effort on the price of the + Pack. It will cost you 999 euros, or 1,000 less than the initial price. In the accessories section, the suitcases alone are worth almost two “violets”.
Here is the GSX-S1000GGX+ already more seasoned to do some road riding. At a sustained pace if the desire tickles you. With 152 horsepower in the horn, it is possible to go fast, very fast, and under the supervision of a nice dose of electronics. Do you like technology? This Suzuki generously infuses you with it with its semi-active suspensions, three Riding Modes, traction control, several power levels, anti-wheeling, anti-drift, cruise control, shifter, reactive cornering braking, Easy Start, 6.5-inch color TFT screen, smartphone connectivity and USB socket.
Above all that, let its chassis, with a strong taste of GSX-R1000, its Brembo brakes and its appetite for fast touring speak for themselves. The motorcycle wants to give itself more assets to convince, facing a competition often better placed.
