Overview
Suzuki and Superbike have a long history. The manufacturer has been present on the grid since the championship's creation, in 1988. The GSX-R 750 fought against the near-uncontested domination of Ducati and Honda with varying degrees of success. Later, in 2003, the 1000 took over. Suzuki has never missed a season; with points, doubts, victories. And finally, in 2005, the ultimate consecration and the title with Troy Corser. Recognized and prestigious names have marked the history of the GSX-R in WSBK: Alstare, Biaggi, Corser, Moineau, Bayliss, Kagayama, Chambon, Guintoli, Haslam, Cluzel, Laverty...
And now Crescent, with its name, graphics, Voltcom partner, and Alex Lowes / Eugène Laverty riders, are pushing the big GSX to the limits of performance. It is a replica of this machine that Suzuki France now offers. The GSX-R 1000 World Superbike Replica faithfully reproduces the 2014 WSBK bike's livery. Visually, the only ways to distinguish it are the mirrors, the swingarm, and the fork (Öhlins FGR on the superbike).
Although the GSX-R 1000 is one of the oldest bikes on the Superbike grid, its performance still surprises many observers. The work of the Crescent team is evident, and is now being celebrated as it deserves with this edition limited to 24 units for the hexagon. To mark the prestigious nature of this machine, Suzuki France has delegated to Paul Denning, the team boss, the preparation of these replicas. They go to Verwood, England, to receive the racing livery and a series of special parts. The Suzuki GSX-R 1000 World Superbike Replica receive a Yoshimura R-77J titanium exhaust with a carbon fiber end cap, a painted seat cowl, GB Racing signed engine case protectors, and an engraved numbered plate accentuating the exceptional fragrance.
This Suzuki GSX-R 1000 World Superbike Voltcom Crescent Replica is exchanged for the modest sum of 16,999 euros, or 2,900 more than the standard version. A fairly salty bill for a Yosh pot and special paint. Enthusiasts will not see this consideration in the same light..
