Overview
One might have expected anything, but not to see MV Agusta dive into neo-retro. This brand is the smell of gasoline and castor oil, not aged leather and nostalgic lines. Yet, with the Superveloce 800, the Schiranna manufacturer has pulled off a masterpiece: creating the most beautiful motorcycle of the movement, without denying a single ounce of its DNA as a ferocious competitor. It’s not a simple evocation of the past, but a tense homage, a machine where every detail snaps like a checkered flag.

The first encounter is an aesthetic shock. The carbon fiber fairing, the round headlight with a yellow beam, the tinted windscreen, and that tapered tail that finishes the silhouette are of insane precision. Even the details, like the leather straps on the tank or the asymmetrical SC-Project silencers, tell a story. That of racing motorcycles from the 1970s, but interpreted with Swiss watchmaking precision. Spoked wheels, lines that stretch towards the rear, all contribute to making this MV Agusta Superveloce 800 a desirable object far more than a simple vehicle. It’s a mechanical sculpture that rolls.
But don't be fooled, beneath this evening gown beats the heart of a killer. The Superveloce 800 shares its technical base with the F3, and that’s far from a handicap. The 798 cm3 three-cylinder engine, here boosted to 148 horsepower, is a marvel of responsiveness and sound. The trellis frame, the 43 mm Marzocchi inverted fork, and the Brembo radial brakes are track weapons. The riding position, although slightly softened, remains committed. Riding this machine is piloting a pure sportbike, simply dressed as a work of art. The TFT dashboard serves as a reminder, if needed, that we are indeed in 2023 or 2024.

So, who can aspire to ride it? The price of the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 is the first safeguard. At launch, the ORO series, limited to 300 units, had a price tag of €27,990. A significant premium compared to an F3 800, justified by the goldsmith's work and carbon fiber finishes. Today, turning to a used MV Agusta Superveloce 800 can be a wise idea to absorb the depreciation. But you also need the character to assume it. It’s not a motorcycle for beginners, nor for those seeking discretion or trouble-free reliability. It’s a machine for enthusiasts, for those who accept maintaining a complex and demanding mechanical system in exchange for pure emotions and uncompromising style.

Between the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 alpine, more radical, and the black version, more somber, the choice exists. But the essence remains the same. It’s the most accomplished, daring, and perhaps most moving proposition in the neo-retro sport segment. It makes no concessions, and that’s precisely why we love it. A test of the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 is enough to prove it: here, beauty is not a facade, it’s the manifesto of a passionate mechanical system.
