Overview
Macbor is not a name that resonates in the halls of motorcycle history, and the 2024 Eight Mile fully embraces its status as a newcomer. With its 471 cm³, its twin-cylinder engine, and its naked stance, it directly targets a saturated territory: that of the Honda CB500F and the Kawasaki Z400. The bet is bold, but the technical specifications reveal an approach that relies on equipment and detail to carve out a place for itself.

The 471 cm³ engine displays square dimensions, with a bore and stroke that are almost identical, a sign of a compromise between responsiveness and torque. With 43 Nm announced, it is not a lightning bolt, and the claimed top speed of 175 km/h confirms this. This motorcycle is designed for urban riding and secondary roads, not for chasing records on the highway. The moderate compression ratio of 10.7:1 suggests a flexible and tolerant engine, ideal for daily use or a rider progressing in skill.
Where the Eight Mile surprises is in its level of mechanical finish. With fully adjustable KYB suspension at both ends, it is a significant argument in this category, which is often spartan. The progressive chassis with a connecting rod and the separate fuel tank evoke more expensive architectures. The brakes, equipped with two-piston calipers and wavy floating discs, coupled with ABS, complete a technical picture that is much more generous than that of its Japanese rivals. At 195 kg when fully fueled, it is not the lightest, but its wheelbase of 1440 mm and ground clearance of 210 mm promise agility.
The seat height of 820 mm may impress those of smaller stature, but it contributes to a driving position that is likely engaged and in control. Paired with 19-inch tires at the front and 17 at the rear, it suggests a motorcycle designed for cornering pleasure, where directional behavior is paramount. The announced consumption of 3.9 L/100 km and the 18-liter tank offer serious range, perfect for days of escape.
Macbor is playing the card of perceived value here. Without knowing its price, we can guess an offensive strategy: to offer more adjustability, more technical details, for the same price as a basic Japanese naked. It is a machine for those seeking a first true displacement without sacrificing the feel of a characterful motorcycle, or for the demanding traveler who prioritizes the chassis and adjustment over brute power. It won't make a Yamaha MT-07 blush, but it could well steal customers attracted by its mechanical seriousness.
