Overview

Over the years, the Kawasaki ZZR 1400 Performance Sport edition has been enriched with beautiful peripherals. Desirable? Increasingly so. Akrapovic and Öhlins were already part of the respectable guests for the ball. Recently, Brembo took to the track and sets the pace for braking. Like the ZX-10R, no less than M50 monoblock calipers are used to slow the generous cruiser. A radial master cylinder from the same supplier further improves feel and ease of use. Pursuing power, the ZZR 1400 benefits from an ECU programming and a revised exhaust system from 2016 to unleash its 200 horsepower while complying with Euro 4 standards. We lose a little torque but we don't care when there are 16 mkg under the throttle. The dashboard is equipped with a day/night mode and a high-visibility gauge.

The top of the Kawasaki interstellar flagship is this Performance Sport version of the ZZR 1400. It is equipped as standard for the European market with an Öhlins TTX39 rear shock absorber and a titanium Akrapovic silencer.

Thanks to its patented twin-tube design, the Öhlins TTX rear shock absorber and its remote preload adjustment knob allow for complete adjustment of the motorcycle's damping parameters.

With 22 possible adjustments for compression and rebound, in addition to the high-end components used in its manufacture, the TTX rear shock absorber that equips the ZZR 1400 Performance Sport represents the culmination of collaboration between these two companies dedicated to the cult of performance. Riding comfort and handling are significantly improved.

In addition to this shock absorber, the ZZR 1400 Performance Sport is also equipped as standard with a pair of titanium Akrapovic silencers that reduce weight and offer an additional touch of sportiness. The riding pleasure is further enhanced by the standard equipment: the high bubble and the seat cover.

Yasushi Kawakami, General Manager of Kawasaki Motors Europe states: "The ZZR 1400 naturally positions itself as the queen of our sport-GTs. With so many fans of this model and many riders that this motorcycle makes dream, the new ZZR 1400 Performance Sport equipped with its Öhlins TTX rear shock absorber will bring together even more enthusiasts of ultimate performance in terms of power, equipment and handling."
