Overview

Here we are at the top of the Indian lineup. The Roadmaster Elite looks down on the road, the prestige, and other GTs, confident in its bearing after being pampered with a great deal of prestige. In the drawers and desires of the Springfield brand, there is nothing more expensive, bigger, more torquey, or with more displacement (but there is more powerful). Touring embraces the apex with this particularly refined limited series.

This motorcycle exudes a sense of force and a rare scale, in the lines of a roadship full of class and classicism. Against all expectations, it abandons the modern line of the previous Elite to reclaim the more retro line of the standard Roadmaster, in a streamliner style. This results in more curves, the return of fender skirts on the wheels, and a desire for aged exuberance.

The 2024 edition had been tempted by black, from the exhaust pipes to the cylinder heads. The 2025 Elite returns to chrome, distributed in abundance on all levels of the motorcycle. This allows the large Thunderstroke 116 twin to take a major share of the splendor on board. Enthusiasts will also be captivated by the sublime triple-tone paint, blending Springfield Factory blue with touches of Candy black as well as some areas of gray; the whole highlighted with hand-painted gold stripes. What a look! One can only admire.

With this Elite, Indian has pushed the notion of comfort as far as possible. The superb seat is heated and refreshing. Enough to settle in for a few hundred km in complete peace of mind while a dozen speakers blast 600 watts of sound. The passenger will have armrests in addition to the generous top-case, which will finish the comfort by cradling the back on a beautifully presented seat. The driver will also be pampered, with heated grips, an electrically adjustable windshield, a view of a cockpit worthy of an American road-movie, and the privilege of mastering the enormous 1890 cm3 twin.

Mastering…. Via three Riding Modes, which give the mechanics a more or less tempered character. Always impressive and overflowing, it seems frozen in time like a column of the Parthenon. Its torque reaches 17.4 mkg at only 2,900 rpm. Let's just say that every twist of the throttle takes pleasure in lifting everything with burly power in all circumstances. Even if the 417 kg calm the impulses.

The Roadmaster Elite also offers 160 liters of luggage space (lockable remotely), an adaptive cornering Pathfinder headlight, large pilot and passenger footpegs (adjustable), a multimedia console with a 178 mm screen / GPS / radio / smartphone pairing / Bluetooth / Apple CarPlay, USB and 12 V ports, tire pressure monitoring, cruise control, rear cylinder deactivation to prevent overheating, large crash bars to limit damage, keyless start… whew.

Did you notice this series of numbers at the bottom of the central console? As you guessed, it is its number in the limited series. 300 Indian Roadmaster Elite models for the world; and only 60 outside of America. That is to say, France should have 4 or 5, at most.
